Shoua Lor, LICSW
About me
My name is Shoua Lor. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) based in Minnesota with 8 years of experience working with people making change in their life. My background includes extensive field experience in a hospital setting including mental health crisis, coping with chronic or life limiting illness, caregivers seeking to learn coping skills to prevent burnout, supporting people through their personal grief & bereavement experience, end-of-life care, and those who are adjusting to different life roles.
I am the daughter of immigrants. This perspective informs my approach and understanding of issues surrounding transgenerational trauma, cultural identity, family conflicts, and perceptions of mental health.
It takes courage to seek help for a more fulfilling life and to take the first steps towards a change. My approach is solution-focused, person-centered, self-directed care drawing heavily from Cognitive Behavioral Theory. You are the expert of your own life and I am here to help you achieve your goals.
