I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in Florida and have been practicing therapy for 10 years. I have a Masters of Science in Marriage & Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University and a Bachelors of Science in Family, Youth, and Community Sciences from the University of Florida, Go Gators! My history of helping people runs deep into childhood. I'm one of those people who always knew I wanted to be a therapist and have been refining my skills through training, reading relevant material, and exposing myself to environments that promote growth. My clinical experience has brought me to private and community agencies, outpatient substance use treatment facilities, and private practice. I have experience working with a wide range of clients who may be dealing with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, substance use, relationship issues (including family, romantic, and friendship), self esteem issues, adjustment and crisis issues and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.
I also have experience working as a Youth & Family minister for 8 years in St. Louis, MO. This experience highlighted the importance of spirituality while healing through pain and trauma. I welcome clients of any faith community as well as those who do not affiliate with any.
My approach is collaborative, we work together in creating the change needed. I believe healing and change are possible so long as there is a willing participant. I use a range of modalities to deliver customized person-centered care including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. What’s most important to me is that you feel heard, valued, and believed in. We all have stories that are important to hear, a voice that should be acknowledged, and goals that can be accomplished with the right support.
I hope to be able to journey with you on your path to health and healing.

As I wrote before I love my counselor Simara. She is great, flexible, understanding, listener, nurturing, Easy to talk to in always available for me. She has really helped me with my mental health journey.
Simara is great!
Simara has been very helpful to me. She is kind and compassionate. She is an amazing listener, who actively listens. What I appreciate most about her is that she doesn’t try to fix my situation for me or advise me on what she thinks I should do. Rather, she asks questions that prompt me to think through things myself, in a very non-judgemental and nonleading way. By doing this, she empowers me to solve the issues in my own ways that are true to my values. I greatly appreciate the time I have with her.
Simara is so incredibly talented at what she does. I have never felt so heard by someone, which makes me feel incredibly valued. I find my time with her so important and precious. She is gentle and kind and allows me to feel safe and vulnerable. She truly is amazing!
Awesome insight and feedback. She’s really listening and understands what I’m saying. I trust her responses. She gives great stuff to work on between sessions and I feel like progress is being made, not just talking in circles.
