I'm grateful for my time spent in counseling with Sonya Jenkins. She is an immensely caring and kind listener.

Sonya has challenged me in times when I thought I was doing okay. She knows how to propose hypotheticals as well as current life challenges. She gets me to think forward and outside the box.

Sonya changed my life. I am so so happy I came across someone as smart and insightful as her. She was kind and lifted my spirits up when I wasn't able to do it myself. She offered advice and was always kind to me. When I found Sonya, I felt like I couldn't keep up with life anymore, I was anxiety; I didn't have my own identity. I was tired and felt like no one could pull me out of the hole I felt like I was in. The days seemed heavy and so did my heart. But Sonya challenged me, and in a way shorter amount of time than I ever imagined...I finally started healing. She listened to me for hours, she taught me how to listen to myself. She took my past and deciphered it for me, allowing me to understand my actions and feelings for the first time, the result of that being: Healing.
Not only is Sonya an amazing and talented therapist...she's also really funny and very nice. Trust her to guide you through the process of healing/becoming yourself.
I never thought I could feel happiness again, but here I am today, and let me tell you...I am filled with joy.

As a 23 year old, stepping into the world of independence, job searching, confidence building and dealing with family ruptures and drama, Sonya was a safe haven to return to week after week. To be honest, at first I was surprised by how bringing up past difficulties and insecurities were met by warm but firm questions around my present and future. The truth was that I needed to shift my perspective of what really matters. I can't change my past but I can change my present.
Sonya also gave me tools to speak about myself more openly, own my feelings, set clearer boundaries and learn the freedom of saying no or not giving an answer. As I finish my sessions with Sonya, I feel empowered. She held a space for me that was nurturing and hopeful. Thank you, Sonya!
