About me

My counseling style is warm and interactive but also honest. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, integrative and rational-emotive counseling. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
I have considerable experience working with adults from any walk of life going through whatever difficulties they may be experiencing. I am also a certified Professional Life Coach.
In telling you a little bit more about myself, I graduated from the University at Albany with my Master's in Counseling in 2005. I have been in active practice with adults since that time as a licensed mental health counselor and certified rehabilitation counselor. I also have a Master's degree in Human Services and Social Welfare. I also have my PhD in Human Services and Social Welfare. I have spent my career focusing on helping those in need in whatever capacity I can.
I look forward to working with you!
I am available Monday through Friday with limited hours.

Sreela is a genuinely warm and pleasant person to speak to, with a remarkable degree of perceptiveness and empathy. I feel very lucky to be working with her.

Sreela has truly been a Godsend, during these difficult times. I’ve spoken to her a couple of times already, but she allowed me to take up space and be fully heard. She is truly committed to the health and well-being of all her patients. I am very grateful to be working, learning and healing with her.

I love Sreela! She is amazing and really knowledgable and she doesn’t make it ever feel like a therapy session; it’s just like 2 friends chatting. I’ve only done a few sessions with her but I always leave the session feeling lighter and relieved.

In such a short time, Sreela has been a significant component to my mental health and well-being. She has already helped me more than anyone has done in my life, and it’s barely been a month. She listens, she understands, and she’s able to identify critical details in the things you share with her that allow her to properly help you in your efforts. Thank you, Sreela.

I’ve had quite a number of therapists since I began my mental health journey — some better than others — and can honestly say Sreela is the best. Not only do I receive unwavering (and honest) support from her in more difficult times, but I am also able to laugh with her, to talk about things beyond mental health, when things are good and still feel like I’m putting in the work toward improving myself. Whether I am doing well or not, I always look forward to sessions with Sreela because I know I will leave them feeling better than I did going in. She makes improving myself feel easy and accessible, and has helped me emotionally grow exponentially since I began seeing her. I couldn’t recommend her enough, she is truly wonderful and I am thankful to have found a therapist who suits me and my needs as well as she does.

Sreela is excellent at getting to the heart of matters in simple language that is easy to keep with you when you go to navigate situations on your own. She is extremely accessible and ready to jump right into the middle of matters in an extremely timely manor. Couldn't recommend her enough.
