Life is such an amazing process, yet it can be overwhelming at times. Counseling can help a person get through those tough circumstances. Counseling can be thought of as a tool to help a person with their problems, to live their life in a healthy and productive way. It isn't necessary to have a "major" problem to seek counseling. Feeling unable to deal with situations, and feeling unhappy or depressed can be reason enough. Some may seek help during a crucial point in life, such as after the breakup of a relationship or when a loved one has passed away. Thus, if you feel a need for help, or to talk, counseling may be of help for you.
I have been counseling for twenty years. In that time, I have worked with individuals ranging from ages two to ninety seven. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Mississippi. I received my Master of Science in Social Work, Clinical Social Work focus from Tennessee. I also did additional study and doctoral work in Counselor Education and Supervision. Upon completion of the Masters Degree, I was supervised in a clinical setting for two years to complete clinical training, followed by an intensive clinical exam. I use a technically integrated blend of ego-oriented, cognitive behavioral and experiential therapies. I have done much work with mood disorders, trauma, anger, and family issues. I believe my experience, education, approaches and caring attitude will be of help to potential clients.
Each client's treatment is individualized to their unique needs. Treatment consists of developing a trusting relationship, exploration of issues and dynamics, and working on the development of more effective thinking and coping skills. During counseling, the privacy of each client is of utmost importance throughout the process. I hope that you don't need help with issues. But, if you do need help, I'm here for you!

Starke Farrell has been a great help to me in a confusing time of my journey. Always available and professional. I have made great progress in my everyday struggles with his guidance.
I must admit that I was a bit wary about trying BetterHelp because I was concerned about with whom I would be matched and what kind of counseling and response I would receive within an online format. However, I could not be more pleased with having been paired with Starke Farrell. He is very well trained in his field, experienced in areas with which I need support, and dedicated to working with me to achieve better coping skills and peace of mind. His warm personality and sense of humor help me to relax enough to concentrate on my healing process. Starke Farrell knows his business and offers insight, wisdom, experience, and methodology to achieve a level of great care.
