I am currently a licensed psychologist in Iowa after earning my PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I previously practiced as a Masters level clinician since 2006, when I provided therapy to children, adolescents and families to address behavioral concerns and familial issues. In recent years and currently, I practice with a variety of clients with various mental health concerns. The concerns that I help others to work on most frequently include anxiety, stress, depression, marital concerns, and parent training. While these are the most frequent, I have knowledge and am competent to work with many diagnoses.
My counseling style is empathic in nature. I begin by getting to know my client and what will work best for them. The most frequent orientations that I utilize include cognitive-behavioral therapy, family systems, and person-centered. At times, I will incorporate techniques from acceptance and commitment therapy, where appropriate. Techniques will be determined with the client and then utilized to develop a treatment plan unique to the client's concerns.
Counseling is a process that can be very beneficial to help address various aspects of a person's life. I look forward to working with you!

Dr. Schilder has been a huge asset for me over the past year. Sometimes you need a person on the other side who can listen and help you better understand why these emotions are happening. She's always been there to help me through certain times when I just need another ear.

Talking to Dr. Schilder these last few months has been a huge blessing. On top of being super easy to talk to (almost like a friend you've known forever!), she's been so encouraging and consistently points out ways I've grown and have 'put in the work.' She's given me tons of tools that I can use to better handle situations in life and I love that her goal along the way has always been to help me reach MY therapy goals. Thank you SO much Dr. Schilder!

I don’t usually do reviews, but Dr. Schilder has helped me in so many ways. I have been with her longer than any other counselor because I have moved around a lot, and she has been the best fit for me; so easy to talk to and flexible on treatment ideas. I can’t say enough good things

I've worked on many aspects of my life with Dr Schilder in the last year and I've been amazed with the personal progress I've made, thanks to her. She was great at listening to my issues and providing resources to address them so I could move forward. I'm really glad I got her as my counselor and anyone else will be lucky to work with her.
