Hi! I'm Stephanie. I live and work in Baltimore, and have been a licensed therapist for five years. My focus is grief/loss, depression, and anxiety. I am certified in grief and loss counseling and consider that my specialty, however, I also enjoy focusing on many other different areas. I use a person-centered approach to treatment while also focuing on your overall wellness and CBT techniques to help manage any symptoms you might have. I would describe myself as genuine, nonjudgmental, and warm. I love being a therapist because I like connecting with people. I enjoy working with the LGBT community, as well as adults from diverse backgrounds.
I will be here with you to process things and discuss coping skills and new ways of looking at your life. Therapy can help you make sense of things that are happening now and things that have happened in the past, help you improve personal relationships, cope with stress, and learn new ways to cope with depression and other things you may be going through. Another benefit of therapy is that it allows you to unburden yourself of things you’ve been carrying around. We can’t change the past or control other people’s behaviors, but we can change how they impact you and repackage these things so that they have less effect on you on a daily basis. I believe that therapy can be helpful for everyone--whether you are adjusting to a new phase of life, dealing with a death or loss, or experiencing relationship conflicts.
