Stephanie DiMaria

About Me

Hi there!

My name is Stephanie and I'm a LCSW in the state of Florida and a Mindset and Wellness Coach. It has always been my passion to help others, which is why I sought out a career in counseling. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology at Bloomsburg University in PA and my Master's Degree in Social Work at the University of South Florida. I felt it was important to increase my clinical skills to better help my clients, so I was sure to get my License in Social Work. Being licensed now let's me help more people from the comfort of their own home!!

I first started working with adoptive children and youth, ages 5-22, and their families. I am Adoption Competent and specialize in trauma and behavior modification, which was extremely helpful in working with this population. I provided individual and family therapy, facilitated therapeutic support groups, and facilitated respite programs. At that time, I also saw clients privately and provided evidenced-based therapeutic services to individuals to promote overall well-being. I then began working with the Healthy Families Program with the FL Health Department, providing services to mothers/families in need. I was responsible for helping mothers overcome past traumas, improving their self-care, and strengthening the family dynamic. I provided trainings to staff and clients, as well as incorporated psychoeducation and measurable progress monitoring. After about 5 years in the field, I started to notice some barriers and restrictions in providing services, so I decided to branch out on my own.

Currently, I provide counseling and Mindset and Wellness Coaching to people all over the country remotely! I have pulled my clinical skills and evidence-based practices from my past experience, and combined it with my warm, empathetic, and supportive personality to provide the best counseling I possibly can. I am a creative problem solver that strives to meet clients where they are, capitalizing on their unique strengths and personality traits. I am extremely non-judgmental, have experienced personal adversity myself, and love sharing my knowledge to help others. I've learned techniques that are proven to work and teach it in a fun and empowering way!

I have a big personality, love to laugh, and will help keep you motivated and accountable along the way! If you're looking to minimize stress, create a life of peace and happiness, and laugh throughout the process, I look forward to working together!!

With love and light,
Stephanie DiMaria, LCSW

Stephanie is an amazing person and counselor. I was such a mess when I started using Better Help. Stephanie made sure I kept focusing on myself and also made sure I continued taking care of myself first. She has been patient (as I can go on circles), she has listened and has been super supportive. She's amazing as a whole and I can't thank her enough.

Stephanie is a kind, caring and compassionate therapist with a wealth of knowledge on mental health and life in general. I have been to four local therapists in my area over the past few years, and no one has been as helpful or as easy to talk to as Stephanie. She speaks to you like a concerned/caring friend would, but has the skills essential to apply different techniques towards your problem areas. I also appreciate that Stephanie will guide the conversations with thoughtful questions that encourage you to look at things in a different way that you may not have seen before. This is especially useful to me because sometimes I don't know what to say or what to talk about even though I may feel like my world is crashing down around me. She has been an absolute delight to speak to and has really kept me going at times when I feel hopeless. I know that therapists aren't one-size-fits-all, but if you have Stephanie as your therapist I can vouch that you're in good hands.

I wasn't sure how online therapy would go but it's been 4 months so far and its been one of the best investments i've made thanks to Stephanie. My mind is less foggy after each session. She's a great listener, offers great advice, and helps to keep you accountable.

Stephanie DiMaria is the most wonderful, kind, caring, loving, nurturing, intelligent, patient, and respectful Counselor I have ever had the pleasure of being a patient of. She is always there at the right times. She is always providing positive feedback. She does not judge. She is uplifting. She is considerate, compassionate, and relatable. Counseling sessions are concrete steps toward better health. Every session I learn something and progress.

Stephanie DiMaria is the best counselor I ever had. Thank you Stephanie for all your hard work and patience.

I was very apprehensive at first because I have seen counselors and psychiatrists before and I never felt like progress was made. In my experience counseling actually made me more depressed but I really needed a change in my life. Even though I wasn't expecting much, I decided to give this a good try.

After my first conversation with Stephanie I knew things were going to be different. It felt more like I was talking to a genuinely concerned friend than a counselor. She is very easy to talk to and easy to relate to. I have experienced a substantial amount of trauma in my life and I always thought that this meant that something had to be seriously wrong with me and that maybe I was beyond repair. Counselors and psychiatrists in the past always focused on the things that had gone wrong in my life and what parts of me needed to be fixed. This always made me feel overwhelmed and abnormal. My trauma defined a big part of who I was and I felt like it would always be what separated me from those people that seemed to always be happy.

With Stephanie things are different because she does not focus on my traumas and problems, she is teaching me to focus on my strengths and my goals instead. She doesn't make me drag up and explain everything that I went through in the past. She asks me where I really want to be emotionally, financially, physically and even spiritually and helps me focus on those things instead. She is helping me learn how to take care of myself and get to know myself in a positive light.

I am noticing that those feelings of extreme sadness and anxiety that were once so common are getting more and more infrequent. When they do still happen, they are getting less intense and much easier for me to handle. I am even surprising myself with how optimistic I am becoming. I honestly see a positive difference in my life already and I have only been talking to her for a few weeks. I can't wait to see how much better it gets. I would recommend Stephanie to anyone looking for a positive change in their life.

I needed an objective person in my life to listen, provide critical feedback, and just be that supportive and consistent voice whenever I need it. Stephanie is exactly that. She is open, truly listens and hears my concerns and thoughts, and responds with positive but critical support. She is direct about my strengths and areas in which I need to focus and grow. She is never judgmental, but remains consistent and critical in exactly the way I need.
