Hi there! My name is Stephanie Knott and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), as well as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). I have seven years of counseling experience, and have been working in some sort of mental health related job since 2013.
I have worked with individuals with a wide range of concerns including (but not limited to): depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, psychotic disorders, personality disorders, mood disorders, substance-use issues, career challenges, PTSD (including physical trauma and emotional abuse), grief-related concerns, and ADHD. I have experience working in community mental health clinics, substance abuse treatment (inpatient and outpatient), inpatient behavioral health units, medical clinics, and within the criminal justice systems.
My therapeutic approach includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person Centered Therapy, and Integrative/Holistic Therapy. Since I graduated from a seminary, I also have training and experience working with individuals that may have questions/concerns regarding their religion and spirituality in a non-judgmental, open manner (only if this is something the individual wants to explore). I approach each client in a respectable, compassionate manner and view everyone as a unique expert on his/her own life (you know yourself better than I do), and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. I consider myself a warm and empathetic person and will collaboratively work hard with each person to achieve treatment goals, but will also encourage self-sufficiency and autonomy. Unfortunately, I cannot obtain your goals for you, but I can help to guide you along the way and offer evidence-based practices that can assist with symptoms and struggles. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
You have taken a courageous and difficult first step to seek out help in your time of need, and if you are ready to take the next step to begin change then I am here to support and empower you. I look forward to working with you!

Stephanie is the GOAT!
She has been amazing working with me. I wish I had found her years ago
Lost my brother last year and on top of helping me with trsima response has been helping me with basically all aspects of my life! Super laid back and I can take to her as if I were talking to my friend IRL
She is extremely helpful! Have loved my time with her.
Stephanie is wonderful! This is my first time doing any kind of therapy and she made me feel very comfortable and she’s easy to talk to. She’s very helpful and she’s very knowledgeable:)
Stephanie is amazing. She makes the complex seem simple. She supports me in many ways through a variety of methods and media. She is kind and caring. She has a way about her that makes me feel special.
It took an abundance of courage to seek professional help. I am not usually one to talk about my thoughts and emotions in depth, but Stephanie has helped me come out of my shell. The first time I met her, I was instantly comfortable with her. I felt like we clicked right away. Over the past few weeks she has helped me tremendously. I am starting to get to the point where I am recognizing my thoughts and behavior. The handouts she sends me are very informative and have helped me create a better understanding of myself. I see Stephanie as my confidant and I am so grateful that BetterHelp found the perfect counselor for me.
Stephanie is an expert in her field and I would highly recommend her, I'm glad I sought her during this time in my life.
Stephanie is a fantastic counselor. I was nervous beginning counseling and seeking help. I didn't believe much in therapy or that it could help me change. But due to her supportive counseling and how she has educated me on every step has been immensely helpful to my journey. She is knowledgeable and always answers my questions. But my favorite part about her is her kindness and personality that make you feel at ease and like you are going to be okay. I'm so glad to have her as my counselor!
