Stephanie Smith

About Me

I have 3 years of experience as a clinical counselor working with adults and adolescents in telehealth, inpatient, and outpatient settings. I enjoy helping people gain skills that fosters calm, stability, and a sense of inner control. I look forward to supporting you through issues including compassion fatigue, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, codependency, substance misuse, grief, anger, lack of boundaries and trauma. I hold a dual BA in Gender Studies and Sociology and love supporting LBGTQIA people in the pursuit of Mental Health. I am an intersectional therapist. I have been a field researcher at the University of Arizona and for the University of Michigan in dynamic community wellness initiative grants.

We will work from a client centered approach to help you clarify your needs, be a safe place to voice your feelings and embolden your skills to live the life you want.
I will respond to text, voice messages, and video texts within in 24 hours - I do not respond to messages on Saturdays and Sundays.
New clients who reach out on Saturday or Sunday will receive an auto-response and are encouraged to schedule a session.

I work Tuesday through Thursday - from 12pm to 8pm New Mexico time.

I ask clients to get a pair of head phones and keep them on hand. I will respond to text messages, that are so welcome in between sessions, with audio messages. I will also respond to worksheets and homework returned in text with audio messages. Please take these arrangements into consideration. You are welcome to choose this option of voice text and video text over text messaging.

Stephanie is thoughtful and intentional in every message and meeting. I feel like she hears me, and always is precise in her responses. She's very knowledgeable and articulates things that I know are true, but that I hadn't been able to form before.
