I am a licensed marriage and family therapist who has experience working with individuals, couples, and families. I have worked with clients struggling with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, relationship issues, parenting problems, familial problems, and community problems.
I believe every person is unique, therefore no two therapists are the same. With that being said, I believe it is incredibly important to the therapeutic process that the client feel comfortable and some sort of connection with their therapist. My therapeutic approach begins by treating everyone with respect and being person-centered which allows the client to take charge of their treatment and using strengths to fuel motivation. I primarily work from family systems theory but also incorporate elements of cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and solution focused modalities. We will be working together to establish helpful tools and introducing new perspectives to achieve your goals.
I live in beautiful Northeast Washington. In my free time, I love to adventure outside and take advantage of the great landscape. I have a chocolate lab, Copper, who enjoys hiking and kayaking with me in the warmer months and snow shoeing with me during the winter. I am a great believer in staying active, engaging in some sort of physical activity is how I like to spend my time.

She's the best ever.
My entire experience with Stephanie has been a breath of fresh air! Immediately I felt like she was a confidant for me and created an open environment where I could speak freely. After my first day I recommended this website to a friend. I’ve never felt so confident in speaking to a therapist until I met Stephanie!
Not only do I really feel like I’m being heard, but I feel like we’re working toward achievable personal goals that I am currently seeing progress in.
Stephanie McInelly is a very empathetic, relatable therapist who responds quickly to all my messages and offers a number of options for me. She listens closely to my concerns and responds to each one individually. Of all the counselors I've had in my life, she is the most kind and understanding. Clearly she practices her therapy with her whole heart. Thank goodness she didn't choose a different career path--her natural skill combined with her educational background are invaluable!
