About me

Good for you! You're looking into the idea of taking better care of yourself. It takes courage and determination to reach out for help, so I am confident that you'll find yourself feeling better soon. I hope you will take a moment to consider giving me the opportunity to earn your confidence.

My name is Stephanie Nickel. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado. I’ve been helping people overcome obstacles to peace of mind by providing official counseling since 2010. A little bit about who I am: My husband and I met in college in 1984 and we've been married since 1988. We have two adult children and so far, one delightful grandson. We both love Labrador Retrievers and our current lab is a yellow lab whose name is Grace. I feel blessed that God gifted me with an enormous heart and a sharp mind. Because of these gifts, most people of all ages find me to be easy to talk with and useful in helping them achieve their goals.

I integrate evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Integrative Counseling, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Humanistic Therapy, Faith Based Therapy, Existential Therapy and Mindfulness to custom tailor how I work with each client. I have Level II EMDR training and solid experience using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing - highly effective treatment for posttraumatic stress and anxiety. I have specialized training in parenting and attachment, including Parent Child Interaction Therapy. My passion is to collaborate with clients to provide compassionate, professional counseling along their journey toward living their best life.

She has a way of seeing the core of the issue and helping you get there too. She listens and isn't afraid to ask tough questions directly that she hears you step around. She respects your answers and thoughts. She validates you and your journey.
