About me

I am a counselor licensed in New York with several years experience working in the field including several years working at a psychiatric hospital helping the severely and chronically mentally ill. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and career challenges. My approach combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with Dialectical Behavior Therapy as well as Client/Solution focused.

I have always been immensely passionate about mental health. As someone who has undergone her own adversities, I can sincerely say that I know how elusive achieving change and growth can be, but I also know that change is possible. Navigating through the difficulties and stressors that life inevitably brings us can be challenging and difficult to do alone. I am a motivated and compassionate therapist who utilizes evidence-based counseling techniques to help my clients work towards change, growth, and self-discovery.

My goal as your therapist is to create a safe, non-judgmental, and warm environment to help you tap into the resilience and internal determination that I know and believe every human being possesses. I specialize in helping people who have been experiencing overwhelming anxiety, depression, stress, and internal conflicts to free themselves from suffering.

I work with my clients towards clearly understanding destructive thought patterns, feelings and behaviors. Change and internal growth is a difficult path to undergo. However I am determined to be an integral part of my clients’ transformation, so that they can fully embrace themselves and their lives with a positive outlook.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Stephanie Kranz. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

I feel very safe to talk about what is bothering me during our sessions. I have made significant improvements in the areas we talk about.

I scheduled a live session because I really need someone to talk to. Despite betterhelp sending me multiple reminders and despite logging in more than 5 minutes before the start of my session, there was no communication from Stephanie. I sat here for 30 minutes waiting to start the session and then it just ended. At least it doesn't look like Betterhelp charged the session, but it would have been nice to know before I waited anxiously for half an hour. I've never had therapy and I don't know how this is supposed to work, but clearly this isn't it.

Stephanie really helped me to begin understanding the thought and behavior patterns that are at the roots of my anxiety. She was patient, punctual and made me feel heard. A great therapist. Thank you, Stephanie.

Love her

I’ve been working with Stephanie for a while and I find her to be incredibly empathetic and insightful. I’ve had a few moments of revelation and a lot of closure through our sessions.
I was dubious about Livechat to begin with because I thought I would edit myself, but I actually find that typing my responses is therapeutic in and of itself.

I’m looking for more response to texts before we have our sessions . However Stephanie is the best and most knowledgeable therapist I’ve ever had and so patient and empathetic
