About me

I am a mental health counselor licensed in Arizona. I have worked in behavioral health for about 15 years, and have been a counselor for 7. I've helped people who have extensive and complex trauma, depression, relationship issues, loneliness and all kinds of other issues. One of my areas of extra training in is working with for are people who have been sex trafficked, and I have worked with survivors of sex trafficking.
I believe in treating clients with empathy and respect. I feel a solemn obligation to be a safe outlet to clients so they can share deep hurts if they need to. I don't believe in judging or critiquing other people's pasts. I also don't push. I believe in letting people steer their sessions and set their own pace. Some clients do better with forward focused therapies with little focus on the past and I can provide that. Some clients feel a need to look at the past to figure it out and I can help you do that too.
I am trauma informed and trained/experienced with EMDR, DBT, ACT, MI, CBT, and brief strategic therapy.
**Please note, my calendar is always in Arizona time. If it says otherwise, just ignore that. I live in Arizona and have never bothered to memorize when my time zone matches MST or not.**

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Stephanie Quist. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Stephanie is the kind of person you want in your corner. She understands your needs as an individual and personalizes her vast knowledge of therapuetic techniques to suite you with the best ones. Each session is unique to what I need (sometimes what I need that day, sometimes what I need to work towards long term). There's no judgements from her at all and she's an ally to marginalized groups.
She also asks you how you learn and She's used that information about me to explain each thing we work on. I'm the kind of person that needs the science/how/what/why before things make sense to me. She's patience teaching me in that way and is incredibly intelligent and up to date on new research.
Therapy isn't always comfortable as you address items that are difficult. Stephanie has displayed incredible empathy during these uncomfortable moments and will stop, help me process and cool down before we continue if my emotions get too high.
I've seen a lot of progress in myself since working with her and I would recommend her to anyone.

This is my first time using any kind of therapy services and I am so pleased with the results. Stephanie is a great therapist and really listens to my concerns and emotional needs. She is also great at explaining and recommending techniques to help me cope under stressful events.
