Stephanie Tucker

About Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of Virginia. I have more than 8 years of experience in the mental health field, providing services to all types of people in various settings. I received my Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work from Radford University. I have experience in medical social work, community based social work, and child welfare.

My primary focus in working with people is that you feel heard. I offer my perspective on the topic at hand and different strategies that may assist you but I believe that you are the expert on your life. It's important that you feel comfortable during sessions and that the person you're talking to truly cares and is invested in seeing progress towards the goals that you set forth. Life can throw us many obstacles and it's my goal to help you overcome them; to help you feel like the person you were meant to be.

It has been an honor and privilege to help people navigate through some of the most difficult times of their lives. I look forward to speaking to you!

Stephanie tell me the things I need to hear while also being supportive in everything that she does. I really enjoy talking with her and I look forward to our sessions

I really appreciate the time and consistency of Stephanie and her manner to address my issues. She has offered numerous ways to be in touch and has given me her undivided attention. Although we have only had a few counseling sessions due to my schedule, she has always reached out to make sure things are going well and smoothly. I couldn't have asked for a more down to earth counselor, whom I feel just gets me.

Stephanie built a rapport with me immediately. She listened to my goals and adapted her communication style to meet mine. I can be a challenging person to deal with... but she was great! She challenged me right back in productive and thought provoking ways. I would strongly recommend her.
