About me

I believe that my life experiences and professional training has uniquely equipped me to be your therapist. When I was a sophomore in high school in 1970, I volunteered with a telephone crisis intervention service. This piqued my interest in learning about professional counseling and the field of social work. I earned my bachelor's degree in 1977 and Masters of Social Work degree in 1986. In 1989 I was licensed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I've worked in the profession since. With a wide variety of clientele and problems. Yes. This means I’m OLD; but well-experienced in a verity of treatment modalities and life situations. I don’t give up on people and their problems. If one treatment modality (Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Therapy (RET), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT), Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Trauma-Focused Therapy, etc.) doesn’t work then WE TRY ANOUTHER WAY.

My experience with Mr. Bowland was one of the first major steps I took into seeking help, he was very down to earth, I felt like I was talking to a family member who understood my problems, his advice and recommendations are truly helpful and he truly cares for your safety and concern. I would recommend him to anyone seeking help.
