Dr. Stephen Karten, Psychologist
About me
Thank you for stopping and reading my information to decide on picking the right therapist. I've spent more than half my life practicing psychology. I've worked in hospitals, jails, prisons, nursing homes and for the last 21 years, was self-employed as a clinical psychologist working alongside my wife, Mona of 33 yrs, who ran the show short of providing direct care. I think out of all my credentials, being able to work together successfully with Mona, making the business thrive, is my best one.
My clients tell me I'm a great listener, funny, and have a knack for conceptualizing their situations in a manner that offers them hope. Most clients finish counseling and report seeing themselves as, "More grown-up, less fragile, and more strategic in all matters of life."
My ideal clients carve out private time in their schedules to conduct their counseling sessions. They keep their scheduled appointments barring unforeseen obstacles. When a client no shows, I do not get paid. I am also unable to help someone else who really needs the assistance. I will not talk to you if you are driving no matter what! Walking around your worksite is also a No Go. I take your case seriously and I expect you to do the same.
Finally, I hope you find the answers, serenity, and confidence you've been searching for. Best, Dr. Steve
