About Me
My name is Steven W. Hargis . I am licensed in Florida as a Mental Health Counselor and Qualified Supervisor of interns since 1997.
I graduated from the University of Louisville in 1988 with a degree in Psychology and 1994 from Southern Illinois University for my Masters in Clinical Psychology.
I have worked in many different settings/roles in the field of Behavioral Health. I specialize in disorders of over-arousal such as PTSD, and anxiety disorders, stress issues. My approach to therapy is very action oriented and will ask you to take positive action steps toward your treatment goals. Some action steps to building a solid foundation for therapy may include daily journal writing, meditation or other practices that teach you to be in the present moment, a routine of physical exercise, and various practices to help you draw strength from your Authentic Self. By learning to live one day at a time we can begin to live in the same vibrational energy as our Source which allows us to attract what we want in our lives- namely-Peace of Mind.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Steven Hargis. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Steven is great! He opened my eyes to a new way of perceiving my personal situation and ways to incorporate that new way into my everyday thinking. I’m already practicing the suggestions he gave me and they are making a big difference!
Great job on my family issues
Steven seems like a good guy. I liked how he mentioned spirituality, for me, that made me trust him more.
I only marked Steve's response time as neutral because we are in different timezones
Very kind, willing to listen and present tools to help improve goals.
He makes me think and want to be positive more and want to treat myself better
Steve is an amazing therapist, with incredibly deep insights that come from his extensive expertise as well as passionate care for his patient’s wellbeing
He’s been really great. Very relaxed and easy to talk to. Very supportive of his patients.
A very good therapist with deep understanding of stoic philosophy and how to implement those ideas to your life. Great person to guide you on your way and find your own truth.
So far in the few sessions I've had with him, he has helped me more than any other therapists I've had over the years. I would highly recommend him!
