My name is Susan Albinder, I have a doctorate degree from Nova Southeastern University, and am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Florida. I have over 20 years experience counseling people in various settings, for a variety of issues. My main areas of expertise are Eating Disorders, Trauma/Abuse, Stress Management, and Couples Counseling/Family Therapy. I also have extensive experience as a fitness and wellness coach, and am a certified Health Coach by the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and own my own fitness studio. I am a solution-focused therapist, and believe that all behavior makes sense in context, I don't believe in "labeling" people with a diagnosis. I take a comprehensive approach to wellness, and believe that it's important to maintain balance physically, emotionally, and spiritually in order to thrive.
I believe in co-creating goals with my clients in a safe and inviting atmosphere. It takes courage to seek help during difficult times, and I treat clients with respect and compassion. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic, solution-focused and rational-emotive counseling. Each interaction and treatment plan is unique, and customized to each client's distinct situation. I draw from different modalities when appropriate to meet the specific needs of the client.
I know that seeking the help of a therapist is an important decision, which I take seriously. I am dedicated to helping you on your life's journey, and overcoming any obstacles you encounter. I look forward to working with you and helping you reach your goals and creating a better life.
