Susan Corry, BACP
About me
Welcome. I am a fully qualified accredited psychotherapist. I work extensively with suicide ideation, self harm, anxiety, depression, sexual/physical/emotional abuse, trauma, PTSD/complex PTSD, amongst a vast range of presenting issues. Every person is unique, therefore my integrative approach is tailored to meet your individual needs. I believe every individual has the right to be treated with respect and accepted for who they are, which is evident in my sessions particularly as I am very passionate about conveying equality, diversity and inclusion.
It is very common to experience low mood/anxiety without understanding why, or to feel completely overwhelmed by a simplistic task. This does not mean "I am weak", "I'm not good enough". Exploration will help you identify any possible triggers, implementation of coping strategies will help you manage any symptoms, and a collaborative plan will help you move forward.
I have been very fortunate to gain a wealth of knowledge and experience through working for both public & private sectors. In addition I have 8 years experience working within safeguarding (Vulnerable adults & children) incorporating adverse childhood experiences and attachment theory to develop my knowledge of working from a trauma informed practice.
