About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 20 years of experience in the psychiatric field. My passion is helping others to become their best selves.

My approach in helping you is by actively listening in a non-judgmental manner, providing a safe place for us to identify areas of focus. I combine many therapeutic modalities to develop a specific treatment plan tailored to you and your needs from a Strength Building perspective.

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for identifying negative self-talk and techniques for reframing the negative to the positive and learn to how to improve your confidence and self-worth. We will work to implement the new skills into your daily living and how to identify triggers and obstacles that keep you from living in a confident sense of self and achieving your goals.

I use Psychodynamic Therapy to delve deeper into how your core beliefs, thoughts and behaviors are interconnected and how they impact areas of all aspects in your life understanding interpersonal stressors.

Our work together is a collaborative process. We will get to the root cause of the obstacles impeding you from reaching your goals by learning coping skills to improve how you relate to yourself and others. My goal is to help you grow, heal and change for the better. Living your best life takes courage, discipline, dedication, and willingness to work through barriers and stressors holding you back, keeping you from living a full and meaningful life.

Susan is awesome. She doesn’t take your negative self talk and she shares her own experiences. She gives you compliments constantly, but ones that really validate how you feel, positive or negative.

Susan Jaros is an excellent counselor with a fresh approach to dealing with one’s problems and conflicts. She realizes that life can be difficult and we sometimes need help getting through our issues. In only a few sessions she helped me realize certain steps that I must take to break through the walls I have erected to reach the life that I want. Do I recommend Susan? Not just yes but, hell yes, with no reservations.

Best person to talk to ever! She’ll talk with you and have fun but also knows when it’s time to work and talk about the hard stuff. Would recommend her to anyone needing counseling!
