I've been a counselor for over 20 years. I have helped many through broken hearts, troubled marriages, victims of trauma and Narcissistic abuse, and healing from toxic behaviors and patterns. I have a no non-sense, straight-to-the-point style that helps people want to see immediate results that will save you time and money. I also have a good listening ear and compassion to help sort out your issues, so you can feel supported and guided to be the best you can be. So, if you are interested in a fast track approach, really wanting to break bad habits and patterns that are re-playing in your life, and you are really ready to work yourself and address your issues (can handle feedback and constructive criticism), then I would be a good therapist for you. Also, be prepared to receive weekly assignments outside of our session time to help accelerate your growth. In addition, I expect for you to check-in with me and for you to be honest. I'm very proactive in your healing and I guide you by setting goals and achieving them with you. We work together as a team on your journey.
Since I have been practicing for many years, I personally have ventured into studying spiritual practices to help others depression, anxiety, loss, grief, etc. I also can help you through inner child work wounding/trauma cords or known as "shadow work." As a result, I have studied meditation, shamanic practices, law of attraction, etc. and feel that connecting to a higher power and getting in-tune with your spiritual core can assist in many struggles we face. I believe by connecting with our spiritual side and understanding our life lessons, we shift ourselves into higher learning and healing; which begins from a core level by breaking repeated negative patterns we continue to face.

Susan is kind and has a holistic approach. Felt like talking to a friend
Susan is amazing, she’s understanding and gives really good advice. She helped me manage my stress and anxiety while moving to a new country and gave me tools to be able to manage it on my own in the future. I recommend her for any relationship, anxiety or stress related concern.
Susan is the best therapist and I feel thankful for every this she is doing to help me.
Susan is an amazing therapist. She was like a good friend, who made me feel okay about the things I was going through. I felt I could lean on her when I was struggling in my friendships, and not sure what to say or do. She reminded me of how it is to have someone who holds space for you, and shows your empathy when you need it most. She incorporated a lot of spiritual tools in our sessions which I really liked. She really helped me gain confidence in myself which I was missing when I first started therapy with her.
5 months ago I lacked confidence and felt very unsure of myself. I knew something was wrong but I didn't know what and I had no idea how I could get better. I noticed my lack of confidence started to negatively impact my work and my relationships. It was hard to get out of bed in the morning. It was hard to feel positive. I thought I wouldn't get better. I thought this was the new normal, the new me. I knew I was in a rut and yet I didn't know how to get out of it.
Susan started making me feel better right away. From our first session, I felt heard. She knew something was bothering me and she took my pain seriously. That alone gave me hope. There was much more work to be done, but I knew I had a partner and I was no longer alone. Someone understood me. I wasn't going crazy.
My issue concerned a female friend. A once-loving friendship had grown into a toxic one and it went from being supportive to outright mean. And yet, I kept telling myself all friendships equal love and that I was crazy for thinking something was wrong. Months prior to starting therapy, I stopped trusting my own gut and it got me in deep trouble. I felt guilty for outgrowing a friendship and felt like I needed to keep myself in it even though it was causing me pain.
Susan helped me unblur the lines and see clearly what was happening. She recognized how this situation echoed my middle school trauma and how my own anxieties were making it worse. But most importantly, she helped me recover from the pain my once-friend had caused and recognize that this friendship was no longer serving me in any way, so it was time to let go. I didn't need to feel responsible for someone else's pain. I was able to stop myself from going back and perpetuating the cycle. I could trust my own gut and no longer feel guilty for not wanting to have this person in my life.
She helped me deal with the situation in a kind and loving way. I went from being resentful to feeling sorry for them. One day, I hope I can look back and smile but for now I know that I can stop ruminating on what I could've done differently and why I didn't work out. I was able to think about something else and feel normal again. That's where I need to thank Susan. Without her, I was lost in my thoughts and anxieties. Without her, I was my own worst enemy.
The benefits of her work have demonstrated themselves in other areas of my life. I have restored my other relationships, I am a better partner, I feel more confident at work, and I've made space for new friendships. I will continue to heal with the tools that Susan has given me and I hope to seek her guidance if I need it again.
While I will miss our weekly calls, I know she can help many others the same way she helped me. I can't thank her enough for what she has given me.

Susan has been an amazing partner to work through my trauma - we have had only 2 sessions so far and we have certainly connected and focused on deep work. She is great at listening and understanding, before she offers recommendations, support and resources. I highly recommend Susan!!
I don't think I'll be the same without our therapy sessions, Susan has been brilliant in empowering me to change my life for the better and supporting me every time I am unsure of the next step. Susie has given me immediate comfort to be me and express myself. She is absolutely amazing.
She has brought so much confidence in me that has been missing for so long. So many things I aspire in life she has motivated me to going for it and believing that I could actually do it. She makes it a safe space to express all of my feelings without me feeling uncomfortable. Her voice is soothing and kind. Having her as my therapist has been a game changer and validates that I made the best decision investing in my mental. I couldn’t be more grateful for I’m excited where I’m mentally about to go as a woman.
Love working with Susan Lane, we have only a few sessions and I can feel that she is going to help me so much. Love that she just doesn't listens to me but gives me things to work throught the week.
