Thank you for coming to BetterHelp to start your search for help and healing. If this is your first step into therapy, then you know it is often the hardest, and you’ve taken it. Take your time and be discerning, and you will find just the right therapist for you and your unique situation.
So, let me introduce myself. First, I want you to know I’m a Christian. We can include faith in our work if you would like, but there’s no pressure. Second, I have a passion for helping survivors of tough situations be themselves – again, or maybe for the first time. My clinical focus has predominantly been with military trauma, child abuse/neglect, physical/sexual assault, domestic abuse, work-place hostility, and more. I have been honored to work with these amazing people for over 25 years.
When we begin our work, my first job will be to understand. I see it as ‘walking into the forest to meet you where you are.’ Once I understand your path, we create a plan to walk out together. With you as the senior partner in our team, you set the goals and the pace. By continually listening to you and truly hearing what you're saying, I will bring my clinical expertise and years of experience to bear so we can review, adapt, and execute the plan. Together, we will work through your trauma, depression, anger, anxiety, isolation, relationship issues, or whatever hardships are keeping you stuck and have brought you to us. As we work the plan we develop, you will find yourself moving through survival to peace, and ultimately to a place of freedom where you can move beyond your challenging situation and thrive. Effective therapy takes work, but trust yourself - you can do this.
SCHEDULING: If you are looking to be seen and there aren't any slots available, please let me know. There are times when I have some flexibility and can slide someone into a slot I haven't put on the formal schedule. I am currently only scheduling evenings, but I will have some day-time slots opening soon, probably in March. Again, let me know your needs, and I will do what I can to accommodate them. I hope you had a great winter!

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Susan (prefer 'Sue') McHenry. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Sue has a lot of practical suggestions for my issues!
Being matched with Sue has been a really great blessing for me. She listens well, has an awesome sense of humor, and is not afraid to walk down my twisty mental pathways. I have been in therapy before, and I know the Sue is going to be able to help me reach the place of healing I am working to achieve!!! Thank you Sue!!!
Sue has been great! I hadn’t had much luck finding a therapist who truly understands what I need out of therapy, but from my first session Sue made sure she understood my needs and has been a fantastic help.
You are amazing!!!
