About me

I am a clinical Psychologist licensed in Massachusetts, and have been providing counseling and therapy since 1995. In my experience counseling is most helpful when it takes place in a context of mutual respect, with the client’s goals, history, and current concerns at the center of the process. I have worked with individuals with depression, anxiety, anger, relationship problems, and histories of abuse, as well as many other problems.
My approach begins with respecting you, your goals, and your understanding of the issues that are getting in your way. I often use narrative techniques to deepen that understanding. We find and affirm your strengths; then we work together to build effective steps for you to meet your challenges and move forward toward your goals.
I draw on many counseling approaches to increase your available skills and provide you with support: humanistic, person-centered, cognitive-behavioral therapy, non-verbal therapies (art, drama), and mindfulness. Sometimes we will find helpful insight in events or periods from your history. I will help you build skills to use in meeting specific challenges, and regular practices to build your emotional strength and flexibility.
Meeting life’s challenges and building the life that fulfills you often looks hard, and seeking support is a courageous beginning. Let’s take the next step and see whether I can help you on your journey.
