Perhaps you're feeling anxious or more down than usual, struggling with a recent loss, or having difficulty with relationships in your life. Therapy can help you to learn about yourself, develop the skills to deal with difficult interpersonal relationships, and make many other positive changes. I'm a licensed mental health counselor in New York State and Rhode Island with a MS in Mental Health Counseling from St. John Fisher College and a B.A. in English Literature from SUNY Geneseo. I have experience in working with adults who may be dealing with relationship issues, career indecision, anxiety, sexual dysfunction, low self-esteem and other issues.
I take a person-centered, strengths-based approach, which means therapeutic work will be collaborative and I will listen deeply to you without judgment. I believe most people in the world could benefit from talking to a therapist once in awhile! Narrative therapy techniques and existential theory also inform my work.
It takes courage and self-awareness to begin the counseling process. I look forward to working with you!

I have found this experience chatting messaging and video chatting helpful and are able to be connected off and on throughout the week. I like the journaling that I can send to my counselor.
Susanna is positively great. She listens and reads everything so carefully and thoughtfully. The best thing is she brings up things I never thought to think about or rather, new ways of looking at my issues. She also doesn't give answers, she makes me explore my feelings and come up with my own which has been such a helpful part of the process.
