Exploring and cultivating client strengths, unique creativity and curiosity are areas that we will focus on in therapy. I believe that my clients are always doing the best they can with the skills they have and that my clients’ skills can always deepen. My specialities include trauma, anxiety, depression, family and parenting issues, life transitions, and end-of-life/grief therapy. As a middle school science teacher for over a decade I discovered my passion for working with adolescents and families in distress. I am a mother of three children and a foster parent to many. Being an adoptive mother of a special needs child has necessitated working extensively and successfully with state and county social services. A few of my specialty trainings include: EMDR (eye movement, desensitization, and re-processing therapy), Sacred Art of Living and Dying (end of life therapeutic interventions), and Trauma Focused Sensorimotor Therapy. With a background in science, I will incorporates biology, physiology, and neurology into therapy. If you choose to incorporate your faith into therapy as a resource, I will respect and uphold your spiritual choices and beliefs. I hold Masters Degrees from both the University of Minnesota and Bethel University.
Betterhelp seems to be a great platform for individuals who are looking for skills and support. I offer one 50 minute session per week or two 25 minute sessions per week and work on Mondays and Fridays online and Tuesday through Thursdays in my clinic.
