Dr. Suzanne Marmo

About Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and therapist. I am also certified as an Advanced Palliative and Hospice Social Worker and have advanced training in complicated grief and revisiting. I have experience helping individuals and caregivers facing end-of-life and chronic illness management and I have also helped many adults adjust to life transitions such as changes in living situations, adjustment to illness and bereavement. I have worked with children, adolescents and adults as a grief counselor and currently teach other social workers to work with people who have experienced loss and trauma. I also have training and experience working with first responders and health care workers who work in environments that experience a great deal of crisis, loss and trauma.
My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, empathy, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines Cognitive-Behavioral, Solution Focused Therapy and Narrative Therapy.
I am so glad you are reaching out and I look forward to beginning this journey with you. I like to think of the therapeutic relationship as a partnership where I can help you identify your strengths and resilience for healing. Please contact me at your convenience and we can discuss further how to meet your specific needs.

Although I had to end before we really started due to a move in states, Dr. Marmo was incredible in the time we did have together. She was intuitive as to what the roots of my problems are and responsive to video and written messages. Anyone would be lucky to work with her.

I was very skeptical of therapy before this experience. I am going to have my third session with Dr. Marmo this Friday and I think she is fantastic. Dr. Marmo is a great listener and makes me feel like I am not being judged, at all. I was both surprised and happy with how easily I can open up to her. I look forward to having more sessions with Dr. Marmo.
