Hello! My name is Tahna. Welcome to BetterHelp! I am a psychotherapist licensed in the state of Maryland where I have been working with individuals and families for over 11 years. I hold an MA in Counseling Psychology as well as national certifications in hypnosis and life coaching. I currently work in private practice and a college counseling center. I have had the honor of working with a diverse client population, assisting them with a number of issues including life transitional challenges, relationship struggles, anxiety, depression, health challenges and career concerns.

Tahna has a very calming energy that comes through in our video sessions. Marital counseling is hard work but she has created a safe, comfortable place for us to work through our issues. Tahna, also, makes sure that we both feel heard during our sessions. I have not yet felt dismissed or underrepresented in our sessions because she allows for both of us to speak completely. Tahna has been a true gift as my counselor. Her resources are carefully curated to meet my busy needs. I travel often for work and don't always have time to schedule sessions but she gives me plenty of books to read, activities to try and goals to reach. I love feeling like I'm constantly improving even though we may not connect frequently. When we do connect she meets me where I am, is extremely thoughtful and is SO encouraging. I can't recommend her enough.

She’s an amazing therapist. I’ve been her patient for a few months now and I’ve learned two things. Help is good. Help is needed. I’ve never used a therapist before and feel lucky that I found one who understands me and my issues. I talk a lot and Tahna always listens to me. I particularly like the app as sometimes when I’m down or sad I can text her and express my emotions and she gets back to me when she can via text prior to our scheduled calls. This gives me a sense of comfort that I have someone I can reach out to. It also makes me feel connected in that I feel like I have someone who understands me and can help guide me without biases and judgment. I strongly recommend using this app and finding a therapist who matches what you are looking for.

Tahna is very easy to talk to and extremely helpful. I just recently started seeing an online and in person counselor and I don’t have much experience prior to this, but I have been comparing my experience with regular in person therapy and online therapy and I find it easier to be myself with her because I’m not pressured internally to come off a certain way or anything. All her reactions and their effects on me are minimized due to the screen. It takes a lot of pressure away and makes it easier for us to come up with solutions together. I also have the liberty to be more descriptive and not feel the rush to confine my problems to an hour, like I do with my regular therapist. I think everyone should try this, because It might work for you and if it does, it will take your self improvement to a new level.
