Hello, my name is Tamara Johnson, I am a licensed clinical social worker licensed in the state of Texas, Mississippi and Tennessee. I graduated from the University of Texas Arlington in 2004. I have over 16 years of experience working with children, adults, families, and Veteran populations.
Several years ago, I experienced some setbacks related to a loss of a long-term relationship which caused lots of grief, financial hardship and multiple stressors including new life as a single parent. I sought counseling to help me through those difficult moments and life transitions.
Life happens and setbacks are often unexpected and can cause an array of emotions and overwhelming thoughts making it difficult to process and return to normal functioning. My goal as a therapist is to help you through those difficult moments and help you find balance in the midst of it.
My approach to therapy is solution focused and person centered using a cognitive behavioral approach. I believe that what we feel and think makes a big difference in the way that we respond. I also believe in meeting the client where they are and using other treatment modalities to meet there needs. I look forward to guiding you on a journey to seek balance and help you live your best life.
