I am a Licensed Processional Counselor (LPC) who has also maintained credentials as a National Certified Counselor (NCC).
I would like to begin by acknowledging your decision to take this first step. The decision to ask for help can be an intimidating one and I am so honored to take this journey with you.
I believe that life is a culmination of experiences that help us become who we are and because we are literally living our lives: day to day and moment to moment, we are the EXPERTS of our lives. Your life has purpose and value thus I strive to help clients use their innate strengths to find what this means for them.
I find myself stating that "Therapy is like having a conversation with yourself.” Thus, I believe my role as a Counselor is to help my clients facilitate this impactful dialogue and create meaning that will perhaps help them become more in tuned with who they really are.
One of my core values is connection, thus I use this strength to collaborate with my clients to help them reach their personal goals. I use vehicles such as empathy, genuineness and positivity to guide me in my work with clients. I also am skillful with using a variety of means to help my clients accomplish goals and some of my favorites are: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused and Psychodynamic Therapy. I realize that therapy is not one-size-fits all so I adapt my style to fit the needs of my clients.
