About me

Tammy Harmon-Rodriguez, LPCC-S, LSW
I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and Minor in Woman and Gender Studies from The University of Toledo and a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling at Bowling Green State University. I am a supervising licensed professional clinical counselor and hold the Social Worker license through the State of Ohio.

I obtained my Trauma-Focused CBT and Motivational Interviewing training and certifications through state of Ohio. in 2018 I have worked with myriad of populations in my 20+ years of practicing with my primary focus and passion of dually diagnosed, trauma and co-morbid disorders. Moreover, evidenced based-cognitive behavioral therapy, gender/cultural informed care, gestalt, solution focused, family systems, and trauma informed care are some of my favorites.

I was a clinical program director from 2014-2016 working with woman in a 16-bed residential treatment facility for woman with mental health/substance use diagnosis. I was able to successfully create an effective family therapy program and trauma informed psycho-education groups. In addiction, my program was successful establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with a surplus of revenue and successful graduations. I have served as a clinical supervisor since 2014. I have been fortunate to gain much knowledge pursuing leadership roles since 2013.

I was a clinical coordinator/supervisor from 2016-2019 specializations in adolescent, youth and family systems. In addition to carrying a caseload I supervised the youth department of 1800+ youth supervising multiple clinicians specialized in this population and many other clinical areas of expertise.

I started my career as a Social Worker in 1999 working working with Severely Persistent Mentally Ill clientele. This life experience was influential in my passion of specialization and scope of practice with the dually diagnosed /mental health populations. Also, I have a passion to eliminate the barriers posed in certain criminal justice, community resources, mental health agencies, etc.

Tammy is a wonderful therapist, we message back and forth throughout the week about my journaling or other random things. It doesn't always have to be about your problems. She's incredibly supportive and I'm so glad that out of all the people I could've been matched up with, I got her. I see her as someone I can confide in and trust, and I struggle with those two things a lot. I'm excited to continue my healing journey with her by my side every step of the way.
