About Me

I currently hold an MS in Psychology from Misericordia University and a Masters in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Scranton. I am presently a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have been in the field for 10 years. I presently specialize in trauma informed practices and utilizes CBT, strength based, and motivational interviewing techniques throughout my work. Over the last 10 years, I have gained experience within the field by working in various levels of care and with a number of different populations. This includes providing treatment to women in an inpatient program who were struggling with substance use disorders and trauma, men who were incarcerated at the time that were also dealing with substance use disorders and trauma, an outpatient setting that dealt with individuals with physical, emotional, and cognitive disorders as well as substance use disorders, and an outpatient treatment setting with individuals involved in MAT. For me, it's important to remember that everyone’s story is different and treatment should be individualized to help them feel safe, comfortable, and hopeful for what comes next in their journey.

Was very compassionate and does a good mix of listening and providing thoughtful insight. I've caught myself wondering what she would say about how I'm handling intense emotions as they are happening already, which has made me feel gratitude. I'm very optimistic about the progress I think I'll be able to make with her, as she seems very intelligent and easy to get along with.

Tanya has been so helpful in learning to recognize the roots of my anxieties, and in confidence building. Tanya is amazing! As a counselor and as a person! She is informed, knowledgeable, genuine, compassionate, encouraging, skilled, kind, timely, warm and personable. She listens, assesses and offers suggestions in just the right way (not always an easy line to straddle).
