About Me

Hello and Namaste! My name is Tara and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New Jersey. I received my Masters in Social Work from Fordham University in 2014 and began my career a case manager for children and their families in crisis situations. I've been in a lot of tough situations with people in a variety of circumstances! While working as a case manager, I also began to work as an outpatient therapist. In clinical practice, I have worked with adults, children, and adolescents on an individual as well as family basis. I truly love working with people through individual therapy. At Fordham, I focused my studies in trauma-informed care and this is the approach I take for all of my clients. The stuff that we go through in life impacts us! The fluidity of thoughts and ability to change especially after a stress or trauma is something that really interests me. My other areas of clinical expertise in addition to trauma include anxiety, coping skills, family/relationship issues, and parenting. I also enjoy bringing in elements of hobbies, passions, and coping skills that you may have to our sessions. Music, art, and yoga are all ok in my book! Mindfulness and living in the present moment is an important aspect of my clinical style. Bringing attention to this and practicing mindfulness skills is a key component to the work that we will do together. I'm looking forward to joining you on this journey and hope that we will soon get to know each other!

Tara has been so extremely helpful for me these last couple of months. Ever since meeting with her, I feel much clearer in the choices I’m making because she is truly guiding me so that even when she’s not there in a moment, her advice still is. Her offerings are succinct and simple for me to understand and have been very supportive for me when I’m communicating with my loved ones. Tara is always kind, listens extremely well, and her feedback is always spot on. She understands me and makes me feel like she truly cares about me and what I’m discussing with her in our sessions. I’m so happy to have begun this process with her!

I've only spoken with Tara a few times, but she has really helped me out and has really kept in touch with me whenever I have any concerns. She also offers a lot of helpful input.
