About me
I believe that through our most difficult challenges there is an opportunity to emerge from those circumstances with new insights, skills, and resources. That process will evolve at a pace that is unique to you and as a counselor, I strive to support you in that journey.
I utilize a systems perspective to understand how we grow and develop within the context of our relationships, communities, and society.
The multiple layers of our identity and lived experience provide us with a variety of options for creating positive change in our lives. I’ve worked with clients with concerns pertaining to self-care, self-esteem, mood management, career development, gender, sexual orientation, race and ethnicity, assertiveness and advocacy, and life purpose.
I am collaborative in my approach to the counseling relationship as I believe that you are the expert of your life and I am here to support you on your journey toward achieving your goals. I utilize a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) framework to understand your unique situation and I integrate the tools and resources of Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Art Therapy. Most importantly, as your counselor, I will regularly check in with you to get your feedback on our work together so I can learn how to best support you and adjust to your needs.
