Hello. My name is Tara and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. I have over 20 years experience working in the mental health field, child welfare and mediating child custody. I have worked in a variety of settings including hospitals, schools, jails, community mental health, and private practice. I have enjoyed working with diverse groups of people and settings. Because of those opportunities, I have experience in many common challenges individuals face during various life stages.
I strive to make the individuals feel welcome and safe, providing an atmosphere where a person feels they can share anything that is on their heart and mind. In addition, I believe in treating individuals with respect, compassion and understanding.
Individuals with depression, anxiety, ADHD, parenting challenges, relationship issues, and adoption issues are near and dear to my heart but I also enjoy working with individuals on other topics too.
My treatment style is eclectic, as there is some overlap on the various therapy approaches. I often utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, person-centered, holistic, and solution focused approaches to treatment. I will custom tailor my approach to the style that best meets your needs. There are times when we all just need someone to speak with to help clarify the issues and work towards a solution.
If you are ready to take the next step, I am here to walk alongside you on your journey to achieving your goals with encouragement and support. I look forward to working with you!

Tara is very kind, and always listens. After talking to a few counselors before her I never clicked with them. Tara makes you feel welcome, supports you, makes you think of things in different ways. She’s always very responsive and respectful. I would recommend her to anyone!
