Welcome! I am so glad that you have reached out and decided to take steps to better your life and relationships. I know that it can be very difficult to reach out to someone that you don't know and ask for help. I understand this and will do my best to make you feel comfortable and confident in my ability to help guide you in the right direction. As we begin our initial interactions, we will discuss how often we will chat and message during my time as your therapist. This predictability is an important aspect of our ongoing therapeutic relationship and will help facilitate your trust in the process of therapy and change. I like to provide my clients with "homework" occasionally, which will aid in implementing the techniques and coping skills that we discuss in our sessions, into your daily life. This technique helps to provide daily change and support, even when we may not have chat sessions.
I would like to share with you a little more about myself. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor residing in south Louisiana, where I also own a private practice, in which I see clients for traditional face to face therapy sessions. I graduated with my Master's degree in 2009 in general counseling and guidance from Louisiana Tech University. I have since had the honor of help hundreds of people achieve their goals and improve their lives. I use an eclectic approach in therapy with a focus in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). I base the type of techniques that I use on each individuals needs and situation.
I have extensive experience in the following areas; anxiety, stress, depression, parenting, abuse and trauma, divorce, step parenting, relationship problems, postpartum, depression, bipolar disorder, transitioning issues, and addiction. I believe that trust and respect is the foundation of the therapeutic relationship. I take great pride in my ability to focus on building trust and comfort during this sometimes difficult process.
I am excited to start this journey of change with you and look forward to helping you in whatever it is that may be hindering you from enjoying your life!

She is great. Listens intently. I just hope she tells me more what to do instead of just listening.
Tara is wonderful! She is very skilled at honing in on what the actual problem is in order to give you specific goals and tips to accomplish those goals.
Tara has been extremely patient as I eased into the idea of counseling! Words cannot express how grateful I am for her support and help over the past few months!
Tara was extremely helpful in working with me to set necessary boundaries between myself and loved ones so that I can lead a more emotionally stable life. She responds very quickly with productive activities that help me balance the steps I need to take to become more expressive with my feelings. I highly recommend Tara, she has done a lot for me in a short amount of time.
Tara keeps it real and is very supportive!
Very understanding and replies in a timely manner.
I just want to thank her for taking my problems serious she really understands and takes everything I ask into consideration an was never artificial. Thanks Tara!
She understands my situations and concerns exactly - and gives the advice I need when I need it - without hesitation - even when it could be advice that she thinks I do not want to hear. That's the advice you usually need at that exact moment - the hard stuff. She's great at knowing when and how to do just that.
Having Tara working with me is like having hope for the first time in a long time. She is no nonsense, strictly professional, but is kind and very observant. She gets to the heart of the matter, and does not let me wiggle out of uncomfortable issues, but helps me face them head on.
Very pleased. I feel that we are making steady, rapid progress. I would highly recommend Tara.
Tara has been good so far.
Tara is kind, considerate, helpful, professional and very, very keen when it comes to identifying the underlying causes of your troubles, and gently getting you to acknowledge them in a good, healthy fashion. She has been immeasurably helpful in getting me out of the depressive rut I was in for years, and I'm starting to get back to my feet thanks to her expert advice. 10/10 have recommended to several friends at this point =)
I'm quite early on in my sessions with Tara, but so far she's been very supportive, even-tempered and all around very lovely. She's quickly and deftly identified the issues I'm facing and is being superb in helping me get through them.
Tara is great, I was blessed to be matched with her. She makes me discuss myself in a way I would've never done alone. It's been less than a month and I feel a tremendous change.
Tara is an amazing person, very kind and very patient.
Tara has been a great confidential, listening ear. She gives good feedback, and helps provide good strategies for challenges I'm dealing with.
Tara is great! She's very helpful and understanding and gives great advice :)
I have only had a few conversations with Tara but the advice she has given me so far has been extremely helpful and I am already feeling much better.
