My name is Dr. Tatiana Chakko and I am a licensed psychologist in the state of Maryland. I earned my doctorate from the American School of Professional Psychology in Southern California and have two years of experience as a psychotherapist. I prefer to take a client-centered and strengths based approach to therapy. I believe that a client is the expert on themselves and a collaborative approach is the best way to have a meaningful and successful therapeutic relationship with a client. When working with clients I like to implement Mindfulness strategies and Acceptance Commitment Therapy. Additionally, I can understand how difficult it can be to ask for help and be open about what troubles us. This understanding helps me to fully appreciate the position of my clients and motivates me to provide a safe space for people to be themselves and receive excellent care. I have worked with a wide variety of adult clients who have needed assistance with issues such as anxiety, anger, depression, and stress management. I have also worked with clients who struggle with more severe mental illnesses such as Bipolar Disorder and Schizophrenia.
