About Me

My name is Taylor Garff (he/him), and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. I have had the honor of working as a mental health professional for eight years. My approach to counseling is person-centered, which means that you will be treated with warmth, empathy, positive regard, and non-judgment. In my collaborative approach, I enjoy incorporating other modalities such as solution-focused brief therapy in finding what works best for you in my collaborative approach. My goals with BetterHelp are to provide ethical, empathetic, and personalized care.

Throughout our time together, I will emphasize wellness and strengths to assist in building your foundation for change. I believe that all people have the power to change for the better and that sometimes that power needs a safe space to flourish. Together we will explore what’s bothering you, empower yourself to make changes in your life, and learn what works best for you as coping skills. I don't have all of the answers, and we can work together to find them!

I am passionate about helping others through various concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, parenting, career difficulties, stress, gender dysphoria, relationship issues, grief and loss, people who have lost loved ones to suicide, self-esteem, and life transitions.

Psychotherapy involves a large commitment of time, money, and energy, so you should be mindful of the services you select. For psychotherapy to be most successful, you will be encouraged to actively work on things talked about, both during sessions and at home. If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to address them as they arise.

Taylor is a wonderful therapist, always taking the time to listen to what I'm saying and not interrupting or talking over me. He asks insightful questions and encourages me to look at why I'm feeling a certain way, rather than just focusing on how I'm feeling. Taylor is also really easy to talk to which put me at ease as soon as we started working together. Would definitely recommend!

Taylor G. is an amazing listener and typically responds quickly and within a reasonable amount of time. He makes me feel safe and I can share all my thoughts and feelings. He offers a lot of variety of resources, videos, articles, and also his own expertise which I really like. Sometimes he assigns worksheets that I can fill out and as a result keep me engaged and developing more my self-awareness and discovery. He prompts me with the appropriate questions and he is definitely an active listener instead of passive. I would highly recommend Taylor.

Taylor is great! He puts in a ton of effort up-front even before your first meeting to build context about your life and because of that he's able to hit the ground running and already be familiar and offer great feedback and questions on the first meeting. This allows Taylor to skip over weeks and weeks of context building conversations and really make an impact quickly, glad I found him!

He also follows up on our live sessions with helpful tips for me to cope with my issues and stressors. Finding a therapist with whom you feel comfortable can be tricky, but I felt very at ease with him from our first session.

Taylor is just lovely. Taylor listens and responds openly and with intuition. I found that Taylor knows just the right time to extend some helpful insights and always leaves me with a sense of calm and readiness for the week. Taylor's excellent understanding of my children with ASD and ADHD as well as my non-binary child make for very easy, non judgemental, empathetic and productive sessions. I don't have to explain my difficulties as Taylor has such a great understanding of the environment in which I live.

Taylor has just been so kind, so helpful and so what I needed right when I needed it. He is helping me build new coping skills, gain self-esteem and to work through some real time issues I have going on. He really listens, responds very quickly and is so knowledgeable with a handy video link or worksheet at his fingertips to help when I need it most. He is a joy to chat with as he is so easy to speak to and even just a few short weeks into our time together, I do feel he has lifted me back onto my feet and is pointing me in the right direction, but always at a pace that works for me. I can't thank him and the BetterHelp team enough!
