My name is Taylor Garff (he/him), and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. I have had the honor of working as a mental health professional for eight years. My approach to counseling is person-centered, which means that you will be treated with warmth, empathy, positive regard, and non-judgment. In my collaborative approach, I enjoy incorporating other modalities such as solution-focused brief therapy in finding what works best for you in my collaborative approach. My goals with BetterHelp are to provide ethical, empathetic, and personalized care.
Throughout our time together, I will emphasize wellness and strengths to assist in building your foundation for change. I believe that all people have the power to change for the better and that sometimes that power needs a safe space to flourish. Together we will explore what’s bothering you, empower yourself to make changes in your life, and learn what works best for you as coping skills. I don't have all of the answers, and we can work together to find them!
I am passionate about helping others through various concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, parenting, career difficulties, stress, gender dysphoria, relationship issues, grief and loss, people who have lost loved ones to suicide, self-esteem, and life transitions. I offer strategies from HeartMath, a program focused on finding balance and inner peace. I also provide written exposure therapy, an effective but gentler version of more intense trauma therapies.
Psychotherapy involves a large commitment of time, money, and energy, so you should be mindful of the services you select. For psychotherapy to be most successful, you will be encouraged to actively work on things talked about, both during sessions and at home. If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to address them as they arise.

Taylor has helped me accomplish things and helped me through severe breakups, helped me realize my personal growth and achievements, and how much the little things in our lives matter to us. I couldn't have gotten where I am today without his help, but I'm grateful to him and to the support he's given me.

I came into therapy with a specific goal of being able to last for 8+ months in an environment at work that I did not think I could last in. Taylor helped me think about things in my life differently such that I developed a set of tools to help myself become happier more consistently and be easier on myself when I was not feeling my best. I would recommend (and have recommended!) Taylor to anyone.

Taylor is a wonderful therapist, always taking the time to listen to what I'm saying and not interrupting or talking over me. He asks insightful questions and encourages me to look at why I'm feeling a certain way, rather than just focusing on how I'm feeling. Taylor is also really easy to talk to which put me at ease as soon as we started working together. Would definitely recommend!
