About Me

My interest in working in the counseling field started with a drive to understand others and help them navigate through difficult times. I found myself always being the person to whom others would tell their story to and after some time I decided that I wanted to become a therapist.

I started my master's program at Nova Southeastern University and participated in an internship at a head start program working with young children and their families.
When I graduated, I got my first job working for a large agency serving the community. I traveled to homes, schools, libraries- really wherever the client was able to meet. My experience working with this agency helped broaden my experience because I was not only working with children and families, but I was working with teens, adults, and elderly populations. I worked with many different cultures and developed an understanding of how to best serve client's from different age groups, cultural backgrounds, socioeconomic status, and sexual orientation. I really enjoy the variability in my career experience because I have been able to help so many different people.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida and throughout my career I have continued my learning through training and certifications. I am a certified Active Parenting facilitator, which is a comprehensive parenting program helping parents of kids ages 5 to 12 raise responsible, cooperative children who are able to resist negative peer pressure and thrive. I can provide parenting courses through telehealth individually or for a group. I am also a certified clinical trauma professional, which means I have been trained in effective, evidenced based methods to help client's reduce symptoms and heal from their traumatic stress.

Stress can cause us to feel overwhelmed. Not dealing with your stress can affect many different areas of your life. Maybe you notice you are getting sick more often? Gaining or losing weight? Withdrawing from friends and family? Having marital problems? Feeling unmotivated to do anything? Life can be overwhelming at times and maybe you aren't exactly where you expected to be in life by this time. We have all been there- it's normal. My goal as your therapist is to help you feel comfortable during session so you are able to be open and honest about the things that are causing you difficulty and find ways to help you achieve the life you want to live. Everyone deserves the opportunity to live their best life.

This platform is unique in that subscribers are able to reach out to their therapist at any time. I think it's a great way to allow client's to reach out when they need a little extra support without having to meet for an in person session. With that being said, I have working hours established so I can have some 'me' time and be my best self when working with you. My typical working days are Monday - Friday and I usually check my messages several times throughout the day, so you can expect follow up within a few hours. I will respond to new client's over the weekend to introduce myself and setup a time for us to talk further over the week. As an established client, you are free to reach out any time, if it's a weekend, I will get back with you within 48 hours. I look forward to speaking with you and helping you start your journey to a happier, more enjoyable life.
