About me

COVID-19 and mental health during this time of uncertainty has people experiencing high levels of stress, anxiety, and even depression. Living in isolation and unpredictability only compounds mental wellness. Tele-therapy or video counseling has enabled clients to participate in therapy during COVID-19 and I
thank you for taking the first step to mental wellness. I believe it is a balance between physical, mental and emotional and when one is out of balance, you are the first one to notice as you are truly the expert in your life. I am gratified to come beside you in helping you to find your best self.
My 15 years experience is varied as I have a business background in management from Virginia Tech and a counseling degree from Tennessee encompassing trauma, PTSD, domestic violence, anger, co-parenting, couples, family counseling, chronic pain, depression and anxiety, high risk youth, employee assistance programs, foster care and adoptions and most recently, the move towards mindfulness and acceptance therapy. I am a Duke trauma trained practitioner for parents or guardians of foster and adoptive children who have experienced trauma.
My favorite quote is by Victor Frankl- "When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves." I honor where you are and how you got there and want to encourage you that if that is not serving you well, let me help you to find a better place. You are not alone.
