Hi, I'm Teresa. You have taken the first step on your journey to health and healing. It takes strength to take that first step, often the most difficult step, to ask for help. I want to help you to learn to manage your struggles and feel in control of your life. Let me tell you a bit about myself:
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) practicing in Wisconsin. I have a BA degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and a MA degree in Community Psychology - Professional Counseling from Alverno College. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma, anger management and ADHD. I have also helped people who have experienced sexual assault trauma or emotional abuse.
My counseling style is compassionate and caring, I will not judge you or tell you what to do. I want to help you determine and achieve your goals. I believe in a client centered approach, this is your time, I will be there to guide you along the way, you will decide the path to take. I believe the therapeutic relationship is primary. I will work to build a trusting relationship with you. I believe in an open and honest relationship and I encourage you to share your honest feedback with me so that I can meet your needs and expectations.
It takes courage to seek help to manage your struggles. I want to help you achieve a fulfilling life. I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to working with you!

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Teresa Thiel. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Teresa welcomed me to counseling with open arms and a big smile. She has made my first experience a stress-free one and has affected my life in very positive ways.
I appreciate Teresa so much. She has helped me realize so much in such a short amount of time. I always dreaded therapy or counseling (anxiety still tries to get the best of me) because I have always felt like “another client”. I feel so much more than that with Teresa. She makes me feel worthy and helps me realize I AM WORTHY. She guides me on how to have those hard conversations with the people I need to. I’ve learned and put so much of what she has told me into consideration and even into action and I can honestly say I feel a lot more hopeful about life and living life AS ME. I truly appreciate Teresa and her time .
After having Teresa as a therapist I can say with certainty that I am more comfortable in my personhood as a whole. She has allowed me to allow her to make an impact on my life and the way I view myself and the world around. It has made all the difference. I appreciate her and my first experience of therapy deeply. I feel as if I stand under a new sun.
Theresa is empathetic and a great listener. She helps me to focus on my accomplishments and makes practical, usable suggestions for facing challenges.
I believe Teresa to be a wonderful therapist! I greatly appreciate and enjoy talking to her and having her tell me her wisdom!
Supportive good listener insightful respectful and willing to give honest insight.
Teresa is extremely thoughtful and kind. Her sessions always end on a positive note.
Teresa is a fabulous counselor, helping me to learn and discover the ways I needed help. She's been a wonderful support and guide.
Teresa is such a sweet woman and has helped me through so many hard times. I’ve messaged her, audio messaged her while crying, talked on the phone, all of it. You can tell how much she cares, and how much she wants to help. I’m beyond grateful for her, and would recommend her to anyone!
Teresa is understanding, helpful, and easy to talk to. She understands my needs and provides me with the tools to improve my mental health.
Teresa is very good at listening and making me feel validated. She checks in when I’ve been quiet for a while, and responds right away. I like that I can message when I’m having a hard time, and not wait for a session. She’s helped me reach clarity after just a few sessions.
Very good at responding to how I want to structure the session as well as relating to her own experiences. Also honest with how counseling works!
