Teri Simmons

(MA, LPC, CPCS)

About Me

I am a licensed profession counselor with a wide range of experiences. Throughout my 12 + years in the field, I have worked in residential treatment centers for adolescents and hospitals with adults dealing with depressions, anxiety, family issues, PTSD, and substance abuse.

My counseling style is direct and interactive. My clinical approach combines cognitive behavioral, narrative, and solution focused therapies. When working with addiction, I am 12 step abstinence based. Our clinical work and treatment plan will be designed based on your needs and personal goals.

I believe that asking for help is the first step in making better decisions in your life. Together we can work through any issue and achieve success. My only request is that you are honest and open about your presenting problem and are willing to take the necessary steps.

I look forward to working with you!

Teri is empathetic and patient. She is intentional about educating her clients about the methods and schools of thought she uses to address their concerns. She is a consistent and timely communicator. I would definitely recommend her to those who are new to therapy or looking for a refreshing approach.

Teri has been a great counselor and a friend to help me navigate through my tough times. To be honest, I thought cognitive therapy was just a fancy word therapists used. But right after the first few conversations, I was able to notice the effect it had on the way I think and respond to situations and stressors around me. All thanks to Teri!
