Hello! I am a licensed independent clinical social worker in WA with 30 years worth of experience in counseling and life coaching. Originally from rural IL, I have worked with all age groups in a variety of settings. I love helping people through life transitions, whether it's due to death, relocation or divorce. I also enjoy working with people who are struggling with depression, anxiety, chronic illness, TBI, SADD, ADHD, or just this looney year!
I have a rather laid back, tell it like it is midwestern style. I am rarely formal! I use a brief, holistic, solution-focused approach; which means I like to start with an end in mind and help you reach your goals. I like to educate people on how our thoughts may affect our feelings/mood which also affect our actions; it’s called cognitive behavioral therapy. I might also help you learn ways to balance your personal life with work and family. Or even recommend some alternative ways (like meditation or natural supplements) to help you feel better. I tend to be very collaborative which means we work together, with you being the expert on you. I’m just here to help you get to where you want with your life (or help you discover what you want). I can also help you sort through fake news and conspiracy theories...
Although I have a robust sense of humor, I take counseling seriously enough to care about the people I help but not so seriously that we won't be able to share a laugh or three. I try my hardest to make counseling feel like a cup of coffee/tea or hot chocolate shared between two friends.
I look forward to sharing some cups of joe with you....

I was looking for steps to take to help me in my journey towards health. Terry Ann was able to give me many steps to take and offered articles and encouragement that were very helpful.
I honestly was giving up a bit with finding a counselor that understood, and was attentive. Until TerryAnn came along. She was more than understanding and actually asked questions. It really has helped moving forward with my anxiety struggles. She’s great at providing solutions that aim to build your character too, help your way of thinking without making drastic decisions. Thank you!
I enjoy my time with TerryAnn. She’s a great, attentive listener and she’s very easy to talk to. She challenges me to really look inward and get to the bottom of my feelings and thoughts. I feel like she’s really taking the time to get to know me, and helping me make strategic moves that are specific to my mental health.
I’m very pleased with my counselor.
