Susan Van Wazer
Hello and Welcome! I am really looking forward to getting started with you. It can take a big step to make that initial contact for some guidance and help. My name is Sue. I've been a therapist for over 30 years and use a family systems theoretical approach when helping others through the issues and how those issues developed. I also use Cognitive behavioral therapy to guide people on making the changes that they want to see in their lives. Often it's the patterns that we aren't aware of that have an underlying pull to keep us where we are or keep us from making changes. I also help people who have survived traumatic childhood experiences that still haunt or effect one's life that can feel debilitating. Throughout my tenure as a therapist I have worked in many capacities, including developing programs, supervising therapists, running the administrative aspects of programs, such as grants, events, etc. I have lived in several places within this country from large metropolis to small town communities. I work with LGBQ, youth and young people, families, couples, career issues, persons seeking major change, persons seeing recovery from psychological trauma, depression, anxiety, and more. I'm looking forward to working with you! Talk to you soon! Sue

I have worked with clients from ages 6 to adults with a multitude of presenting issues such as developmental trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship and family issues, PTSD, self-esteem and self-identity issues and neurodevelopmental disorders. I started off at St. Louis University where I got my bachelor's of Arts in Psychology. I worked in the work force for about 15 years, before going back and pursing my graduate degree in Counseling. I graduated from Missouri Baptist University where I got my Masters in Counseling. I have worked extensively with adolescents and adults that have experienced trauma, PTSD, anxiety and depression. My experience is varied and across many different settings, as I have provided group therapy, family therapy, and individual therapy in residential treatment programs, community mental-health agencies, school settings and private practice settings. I believe that relationships are the true agent for change and I am currently working in a program that is relationship based. I also have experience working with family systems dealing with attachment and relationship issues. My main focus in therapy is to meet my client where they are at with acceptance and non-judgement and to use an approach that will work best for us as we work toward meeting your therapy goals. With my experience, I truly believe I can help families and adults heal their relationships and work through the struggles they face. I am here to support you through your journey.

Since then, I’ve had extensive training and experience working with a diverse group of people, including residential care with children and adolescents struggling with trauma induced behaviors, maladaptive coping skills, and problematic sexualized behaviors. In addition, I’ve worked closely with victims of domestic and/or sexual violence, Military Personnel and their families who struggle with PTSD, transitions and more. These modalities may include Trauma Informed Care, Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Client-Centered and Solution Focused therapy. In addition to my professional education and training, I believe my greatest ability to provide meaningful, effective counseling stems from my own personal experiences that have developed me. I’ve been married for 17 years, and together we have 11 amazing children who sometimes keep me young but most often bring me those grays! I am very compassionate and empathetic, yet genuine, real , concise and constructive in my delivery. I would love to be a part of your journey of good health & wellness!

Julie Burr
My name is Julie and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for Missouri and I’d love to partner with you to feel well and be well! Let's nourish your soul and find healing with the practices I’ve implemented from the wealth of wisdom I’ve gleaned from decades of challenges related to health, relationships, and loss. From the unexpected loss of numerous loved ones, the end of intimate relationships, unmet expectations and chronic illness we can go from misery to mastery, bitter to better, and find some nuggets of joy in the journey. It's not easy but YOU are worth investing in! It takes time but let’s find peace, balance and contentment *in the midst of* crazy times. Life can really be tough and there's not a lot of easy answers to many challenges. While I find DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) and CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy), mindfulness and faith in general to be very useful for many people I'm honored to help find the best approach for YOU in coping with life's curveballs, managing long seasons of hardship, and finding hope in the most difficult issues we may face. Particular interests of mine include travel, nutrition, movement, parenting struggling children, caregiving, social and environmental justice, race relations and finding the aspects of faith that are helpful while discerning what doesn't serve you well.

Susan Beck Case
Blessings to you and your effort to pursue support on your behalf. You deserve your effort! In my over 30 year career as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I have been privileged to connect with three year olds to 103 year olds! My motivation is to make a positive difference in the time I am given in this world. My first recommendation to all clients is to advocate for yourself as you choose a therapist. Invest in yourself and your value to make certain you feel comfortable with the therapist you choose. Often if the experience isn't what you expected, a client will hesitate to request an alternative therapist, ultimately discontinuing therapy with unmet needs. The connection between you and your therapist is instrumental in successful therapy . My responsibility is to create a healthy, therapeutic relationship which is based upon trust and nonjudgemental acceptance. Therapy is a challenging process and your willingness to share what might be a painful history is a gift I do not accept lightly. It is important to me to honor your journey, acknowledging the vulnerability of opening past chapters of your story to someone who begins as a stranger. The names of the therapeutic modalities I choose to implement are not the priority as you explore your willingness to begin this process. It will be necessary for you to begin with the goal to trust in my competence and experience to qualitatively respond to what you are currently managing. I would be grateful for the opportunity to join your story.
