Hi! My name is Sarah, and I am a clinical social worker licensed in Wisconsin. I have over four years of clinical counseling experience working in a community clinic and private Christian counseling office, in addition to two years of graduate internships at UW Hospital and VA Hospital in Madison. I have worked with adults experiencing many distressing symptoms including depression, anxiety, self-esteem, grief, relationship issues, parenting concerns, life transition challenges, ADHD, LGBTQ specific concerns, and alcohol and drug use. I am a respectful, strengths-based, client centered therapist. I strongly believe that my clients are the experts in their own lives. It is my goal to be a guide during a time when they may be overwhelmed with stressors or challenging symptoms. Together we will combine your personal strengths with tools from various therapies (including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Interpersonal Therapy) to create a treatment plan that is specific to your therapy goals. Before successful completion of therapy, you will have a positive action plan in place for responding to future stressors. Because a healthy work and family life balance is important for everyone, I "practice what I preach". I respond to messages left for me on this platform every Monday thru Friday business day until 2 p.m. Many of my clients have found it helpful to send a message in the evening or on Sunday, and I always respond to those messages first thing in the workday morning. I am also available to do live video or phone sessions between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m each business day. Finally, because online counseling is still a somewhat newer technology for many people, I want to always be clear and transparent about limitations to the platform. I am unable to write letters for clients to the courts, lawyers, or medical professionals. I can, however, talk with you about ways to advocate for yourself through these systems from the perspective of a therapist. YOU have taken a positive, first step in creating positive change in your life. Together we can take the next steps toward helping your reach your goal. I look forward to working with you!

**Must schedule through therapist to avoid errors and double-bookings. Thank you! I am a psychotherapist who specializes in addiction, shame, trauma, and helping others learn the art of self-compassion. I utilize Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) to facilitate a large majority of my individual and group sessions. This action-oriented framework is congruent with my belief system and core values. Instead of expending energy resisting or denying their emotions toward a difficult concept, it encourages one to accept these emotions as an appropriate response to certain situations and to move forward regardless. This eases the conflict between how a person believes they are “supposed to” feel and how they realistically feel under circumstances to which they are exposed. I am a trained practitioner in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. (EMDR) This adaptive integrative processing approach uses bilateral stimulation and lateral eye movement to strengthen positive neural networks within one’s brain. It helps rescript and establish positive connections about a previously-held negative belief. It reinforces the positive pathway and helps the individual cope with the memory while applying new, positive beliefs about a negative situation. Using a holistic approach is essential in my practice. A person is not their diagnosis. A person is not their addiction. A person is a complex individual who deserves the care and respect that I would hope be shown toward myself or someone that is close to me. Working through shame is a process and a journey that is best traversed with compassion. Contact me to schedule. I have limited availability at this time. Thank you.

Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Wisconsin with over 22 years’ experience providing direct care for new parents and infants, children, adolescents, young adults, adults and families. I have worked at an inpatient residential treatment center for adolescents and a community mental health clinic. I am also a consultant for the Wisconsin association of infant mental health (WI-AIMH). In 1999, I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stout with a Master’s degree in mental health counseling. In addition, I have specialized training through the University of Wisconsin Madison in infant early childhood and family mental health. I am also trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), child parent psychotherapy (CPP) and reflective practices such as yoga and meditation. It is my passion and honor to be a guide for people in my community in finding their path to a life worth living. I encourage a whole life approach where we will focus on you as a person versus any diagnosis that you may have been given. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space that welcomes people of diverse backgrounds. I hope that when we talk, you feel safe, supported, and empowered to make lasting changes. When I am not counseling, I am a parent of a teenager, training for RAGNAR road or trail race, doing yoga, playing viola, learning, reading and crafting. I try to practice what I teach. Change and growth take effort beginning with small intentional steps. We aren’t moving backward as long as we decide to move forward. In seeking counseling, I know you are ready to take the steps to create change even if you are not sure where to begin. I look forward to working with you to build the life you want to live while healing from previous challenges. Psychotherapy is above all a collaborative approach with the goal of helping you to achieve your goals in a healthy manner. Together, at your speed, we will discover your strengths and perhaps even find some new talents. I have appointments available weekday evenings and weekend mornings/evenings Central Standard Time.

Hello! I am glad that you have chosen Better Help to guide you through whatever difficult situation that you are facing. My name is Chad Taylor, and I am originally from Illinois where I was born and raised for the first 38 years of my life. I spent my time right out of high school working for the Illinois Department of Corrections then decided to go back to school to pursue a new career. I graduated from Western Illinois University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology. After I graduated, I thought about going into ministry, but I decided to pursue counseling. I continued my education through Lincoln Christian University, and graduated in 2015 with a Masters Degree in Counseling. I operate out of Cognitive Behavioral Framework with Motivational Interviewing. I have also been certified in Anger Management with the National Anger Management Association. I spent the first two years after graduation working in the community mental health field. Then I spent two years as a Clinical Therapist at the Illinois Department of Human Services Treatment and Detention Facility where I worked with sexually violent persons who were civilly committed under the Illinois Civil Commitment Act. After my time there I decided to go back to community mental health. When on a vacation to Wisconsin Dells I decided to look for a counseling job in Wisconsin and through a series of events and numerous trips to the area I was hired and moved to the area in March of 2019, and I have loved every minute of it. In my spare time I like to hangout with my family, read, play chess and watch football. I look forward to meeting with you and helping you on your journey.

I am licensed in Arizona and Wisconsin with 7 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, lgbt-related issues, motivation, self esteem, and confidence, & career difficulties. I use an eclectic approach to therapy to fit your needs rather than try and fit you into a given type of therapy. I am not the kind of therapist who will hand you packets in order to teach you skills (unless you really want them). Instead, I will help you identify coping skills you are already likely to use. I offer a kind, caring, and non-judgmental environment to help you meet your goals.

I am a licensed clinical social worker in Minnesota with over 30 years of experience working with kids, young adults, parents, and families, most of whom have been involved in child welfare service systems. I have experience helping adults and kids who are struggling with issues of safety, meeting basic needs, activities of daily living, parenting, or needing connections to their community. I am also especially adept at helping teens and young people transitioning into adulthood plan for their futures regardless of their previous experiences. I have been a college professor for over ten years and help people of any age who are looking at higher education options or struggling to meet personal, social, and educational requirements in college situations. As a helper, I focus on treating everyone with dignity and worth, and listen nonjudgmentally regardless of the situation. I try hard to really understand the person as well as the context within which their problems exist. I primarily use solution focused and cognitive behavioral therapy methods. Most importantly, interventions are tailored to what is important to the people I am working with. Every session ends with a plan to take a step forward and create long term changes. I look forward to meeting you and supporting you in starting your best life!
