My name is Amie Diminico I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor(LMHC) in the state of Massachusetts. I earned my Bachelors Degree at Northeastern University, In Boston, Massachusetts in Counseling Psychology. Then went on to earn my Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from Northeastern University as well. Both my husband and I work so navigating work and family life is always a task I can truly relate to. I have been married for 13 years and we have 6 children all together. Both my oldest son and step-son graduated high school in 2020 and trust me the struggle was real with all the challenges they faced due to the pandemic. My daughter is finishing up her last year in a college out of state and my step-daughter is working and navigating the transition into adulthood complete with all the stressors that comes with the territory. My oldest step-son is slowly adjusting to his first few years out in the workforce. Our youngest daughter is in her first year in middle school and although she is 10 sometimes we have to remind her that she is not a teenager. The majority of my work has been in a community mental health setting in the state of Massachusetts where I lead individual, family, couples, and group therapy. I devised multidisciplinary teams with the purpose of presenting cases for proper treatment with a global approach. I also acted as a liaison to help clients find meaningful employment in the community. I have worked with families and individuals who have experienced anxiety, depression, abuse/neglect, parenting issues, addiction, and adjustment disorders. Through my ten plus years of experience in the field of clinical psychology I have acquired strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to evaluate the needs of a wide range of people identify areas of need and then help to plan and carry out measurable goals to attain maximum achievement and adjustment. I hope to motivate you in ascertaining your inner strengths and abilities. I aim to provide you with open thoughtful responses and to help create a safe, judgment free, confidential space for you to be able to share and trust your own opinions, while fostering confidence in order for you to realize your true potential. I look forward to talking with you soon!

I am a licensed psychotherapist in Massachusetts with over 25 years of clinical experience. I have worked in multiple settings, including crisis teams, day treatment programs, and hospitals. I have also been providing individual, couples, and group psychotherapy throughout this period. I adjust my clinical style based on the needs of the client. I am comfortable providing feedback and strategies if necessary, particularly if you are most interested in a problem-solving approach. I frequently utilize spiritual and existential modalities. I have extensive training in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Exposure Therapy, Mindfulness, sInternal Family Systems, and Nonviolent Communication. I am particularly interested in working with people open to mindfulness and spiritual modalities. I have found the integration of spirituality and psychotherapy to be profound influential in my work and in my ability to be helpful to patients. Finally, if you are looking for a therapist who can make a quick connection, either with yourself or a loved one, I think I would be an excellent choice. Because of the current nature of my work in a hospital, I am comfortable in crisis situations, and with the importance of making an alliance early on in the therapeutic relationship. Good luck in your process. I commend you for taking this step in your journey.

Online therapy vs. in-person therapy in Massachusetts

When searching for a therapist near me in Massachusetts, many people compare online therapy with traditional in-person care. Online therapy offers several potential advantages:

  • Greater accessibility: Attend sessions from anywhere with an internet connection
  • Reduced wait times: Many people are matched in as little as  24-48 hours, faster than typical in-person availability
  • Flexible scheduling: Sessions that fit around work, family, or school commitments
  • Expanded provider options: Access licensed therapists across Massachusetts, not just nearby offices

Research shows that online therapy can be effective for many mental health concerns. Online therapy may also reduce barriers such as transportation challenges, long commutes, or limited local availability, especially in larger or more rural counties across Massachusetts.

Finding a therapist near me that accepts insurance
