Jennifer Bicknese
My name is Jennifer Bicknese, ATR-BC, LPC. I am a Board Certified and Licensed Professional Counselor. I am licensed in the state of Pennsylvania and have 11 years of counseling experience. I have worked in an outpatient facility with children, an outpatient facility with adolescents and adults, and a residential facility with individuals diagnosed with bipolar and schizophrenia. I have the most experience working with, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, sexual identity, LGBTQ community, life stressors, grief and loss, and anger management. I utilize two different methods of counseling. The first one is the practice of Art Therapy. Art Therapy is a non-verbal way to express feelings and work on overcoming obstacles. If a client is open to trying Art Therapy, there are many techniques I can provide to help with life stressors. By providing a therapy using art supplies, such as, paint, colored pencils crayons, markers, clay, etc., a client can discover key themes in their artwork. Through learning about these key themes, a client can better discover their own way of finding personal solutions to their goals of therapy. The second practice I utilize is a Person-Centered Approach. A Person-Centered Approach basically means I want to help a client find ways in which to overcome stressors through positive support and understanding. By using a Person-Centered Approach, I help to guide a client into reaching their own personal growth and change. I do this by assisting clients with what they feel needs to be worked through. I am here to listen and support, with no judgement present. It is my aim to empower and motivate clients through the therapy process. I look forward to learning more about you and helping you achieve all the goals you have set forth. Thank you for looking at my profile and allowing me to help you achieve a happier and healthier life.

I've had experience with working in the mental health field for 10+ years. I've recently been working with individuals in the community living with a mental illness, more specifically schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and bipolar disorder. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Penn State University and received my Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Holy Family University. I am licensed as an LPC for the state of Pennsylvania. My approach is treatment is client-centered, in that, the client is the most important person in this therapeutic relationship, as well as in their lives. Treatment is focused on the here-and-now while also coping with past experiences that continue to trouble the individual. Therapy in an on-going process and isn't always focused on one modality. When clients have a better understanding of what is bothering them in their present lives, they become more adapt at handling difficult situations with multiple outlooks/strategies.

Hi, I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and a certified advanced alcohol and drug counselor (CAADC) in Pennsylvania with 36 years of professional work experience. I have worked extensively with helping clients and their families, with issues around chemical use disorders, behavioral addictions, personality disorders and mental health issues. I tend toward having a more directive style of therapy but I also have experience with non directive styles as well. I am certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy for the treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and have 16 years experience working with Exposure Therapy to resolve trauma reactions that disrupt healthy living and contribute to depression and anxiety. I enjoy working with couples and families to explore and resolve family dynamics, parenting and relationship issues that disrupt connections needed for unity and stability. The goal is to help clients learn and utilize tools to maintain healthy, strong relationships, long after therapy is concluded. I have also worked extensively with clients, both children and adults, around issues of sexual dysfunction, sexual abuse and sexual compulsivity. Most of my career I have worked with marginalized communities. I endeavor to increase my understanding of religions, human drives and cultures so that I might be able to serve my clients with a broader understanding. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. I work best with clients who are ready to explore patterns, build insight, and create meaningful change in their lives. My ideal clients include individuals and couples navigating Borderline Personality Disorder, neurodivergence, chronic pain or illness, and the emotional challenges that often accompany these experiences. I frequently work with people managing anxiety, depression, mood and personality disorders, sexually maladaptive behaviors, and relationship concerns. I value working with clients across the lifespan, from children to adults, who are open to collaboration and growth. My approach to therapy is eclectic, with a strong foundation in CBT, DBT, and Reality Therapy. Sessions are flexible, collaborative, and goal-focused, balancing a relaxed, down-to-earth vibe with professionalism, clear boundaries, and intentional progress. I work with clients ages 5 through 65. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to start, you’re not alone. Reaching out for support can feel daunting, especially if you’ve had difficult experiences in the past or have learned to manage things on your own for a long time. Therapy does not require you to have everything figured out. It simply asks that you show up as you are.
