I use a strengths based, collaborative approach that is based in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I can teach skills and provide tools to help you become the best version of you.
Cynthia Mickel
I am Leeann Mickel, I have a masters degree in educational psychology with an emphasis on community counseling. I have my LPC, licensed professional counselor Masters level. I also have an LC DC licensed chemical dependency counselor. I have worked 20 + years in the field of service. I have had great success with clients who have experienced significant trauma. I have been Clinical Supervisor for a substance abuse residential setting. I am currently Clinical Director for the agency with whom I am employed at this time. I believe it to be my mission helping and serving. My approach is client centered we start where you are. I am very laid-back and personable, I have forever been told how easy it is to talk to me, even prior to my chosen career! That’s a plus when you’re a therapist! I have some clients who simply need an ear and guidance. Others are eager to get to the cause of what prompted them to reach out. Either is great. I understand that some people need to vent and receive professional advice. I tell all of my clients you have inside you now everything you need to heal and progress. My job is to guide you on the journey in this process of self discovery and healing. I also tell my clients that I will work just as hard as you in doing this, but I will never work harder. This would cause more harm by handicapping them if others around never allow my clients to learn through experience, and rob my client of demonstrating to themselves the opportunity to see how capable they actually are. I have worked with many populations: adolescents, adults with variety of disorders/conditions. Such as mental health diagnosis like depression, bi polar, anxiety, and PTSD. For the last six years I have led our adolescent program. I'm very familiar with self harming behaviors, and have a knack of being able to reach them and slowly process into self love. I also have extensive experience with grief which may look different and feel different among different clients. Even those who believe that have mourned and grieved, but truly have not. I look forward to working with you and helping you along your specific path. My schedule is very flexible, as a I only work from home, virtually/remote. During therapy it will be common to give 'experiments' following a session. The purpose for this is taking from our sessions and applying what you learn to your 'real life' outside of one session weekly for an hour.

You may look like you’re handling life well – career, responsibilities, showing up for others – but inside you feel tense, restless, or mentally stuck. Maybe your thoughts loop. Maybe stress from work follows you home. You wake up already on edge and wonder, “How do I stop feeling like this?” Many of the adults and couples I work with – especially men in their late 30s through 50s – aren’t looking to be analyzed endlessly. They want clarity. They want tools. They want to show up better in their lives and relationships. Therapy with me is steady, practical, and collaborative. I start by listening to understand your world. We identify strengths, barriers, and small, realistic changes for meaningful results. Clients and couples often gain sudden clarity – feeling calmer, more grounded, and better equipped to handle stress and improve how they connect. My clients report feeling more regulated with their family, recovering faster after stress, and speaking to themselves with greater kindness. I don’t “fix” people; I help you reconnect with your inner compass so you can feel more at home in your body, your relationships, and your life. I'd love to help you get started.

Whether you are grieving the loss of a loved one, struggling with anxiety or depression, or facing a difficult life transition, it can feel overwhelming to carry those burdens alone. My goal is to provide a compassionate, supportive space where you feel safe to share your story, process your experiences, and move toward hope, healing, and meaning-making at your own pace. As a licensed therapist in Texas, I feel honored to walk alongside individuals as they navigate life’s challenges. I understand that reaching out for support can be a big step, and my goal is to create a space where you feel safe, heard, and genuinely understood. I work with people experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, and self-esteem struggles, as well as challenges related to relationships, work, trauma, and social anxiety. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I believe in getting to know you—your story, your strengths, and what matters most to you. Together, we can gently explore patterns that may be holding you back, build self-compassion, and develop practical tools to help you move forward in a way that feels meaningful and manageable. My approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, but always guided by empathy, curiosity, and respect for your unique experience. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply looking to better understand yourself, I’m here to support you at your own pace. You don’t have to figure it all out alone.

Online therapy vs. in-person therapy in Texas
Online therapy and in-person therapy both connect you with a licensed professional, and the main difference is how you meet. Both formats can support meaningful progress, so the right choice often comes down to what fits your life.
