Throughout my career, I have helped clients navigate relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and major life transitions. I also specialize in women’s issues, including postpartum concerns, parenting, identity shifts, and the transition into new stages of life. My approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which I’ve found to be highly effective in helping clients make meaningful, lasting changes. I believe that when people gain new insight and practical coping skills, they often begin to see their world in more hopeful, empowering ways. In therapy, I offer a warm, supportive, and collaborative environment where you can explore your experiences without judgment. Peggy Wilson
My name is Peggy Wilson, I have a Masters degree in Human Science with an emphasis on workplace behavior. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than 15 years experience. My background in the business world in leadership positions in the profit and non profit setting, along with my mental health training and experience, equips me to make a valuable contribution to clients dealing with anxiety, depression, lack of coping skills, feelings of uncertainty, emptiness, lack, difficulty adjusting to life changes and transitions. Much of our lives are centered around our work or lack of work across our lifespan; it is important to become enlightened to the drivers of our own behavior and how it impacts business and personal relationships. Very often clients discover barriers, childhood traumas, self-sabotaging and self-esteem roadblocks that impact every area of their life and create needless struggle and pain. My approach to helping my clients is to act as a guide and raise their level of awareness to resolve or dissolve problems that could otherwise create a lifetime of suffering. I am living, breathing proof that good counseling has the potential to bring peace of mind and feelings of well-being. I work with my clients to set goals and landmarks and encourage them to keep going. Counseling is a process, it can make the biggest difference in your life. I am a lifelong student of the healing arts. Currently a Licensed Professional Counselor, I have eight years of experience helping youth and adults recovering from addictions, trauma, anxiety, depression, and other mental health conditions in both individuals and families. Prior to becoming a therapist, I studied Scientific Inquiry and completed my bachelors thesis in neuroscience, studying signals in the brain that affect eating and other behaviors. I worked in the natural health industry as a Research Scientist and educator. As part of this experience, I have studied cultural diversity and the use of holistic health approaches for over 30 years. I believe each individual has the ability to affect positive change in their own well-being with the right support, environment and evidence-based interventions. My motto is “Kindness Matters”. I have found client-centered “talk” therapy to be effective in building a therapeutic relationship of trust that fosters self exploration, confidence and motivation. My role is not to give advice or judgment, but to help you make choices based on your own knowledge and values. For some, this may involve therapies such as Cognitive or Dialectical Behavioral Therapies (CBT/DBT) Narrative Therapy, or Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, among others. I use assessment interviews periodically to identify your strengths and learn about your ongoing needs to make sure we are meeting your goals. Ethics are paramount in my practice. Education, advocacy and resources are essential to counseling and I am an active member of The Texas Counseling Association. If I don’t have an answer, I will find it. Previous patients have called me “warm, caring, funny, relatable, helpful, professional, and thoughtful”. I hope you will find the same!

If you're the person everyone depends on, but you're quietly running on empty, you're not alone. Maybe you've become so used to being "the strong one" that asking for help feels uncomfortable. You keep showing up for everyone else while carrying anxiety, self-doubt, relationship stress, or emotional exhaustion behind the scenes. I work with adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, and life transitions. Many of my clients are high-functioning on the outside but overwhelmed on the inside. Together, we'll explore what's keeping you stuck while building practical tools that help you feel more confident, balanced, and connected to yourself again. My style is warm, honest, and collaborative. I want therapy to feel like a place where you can let your guard down, feel genuinely understood, and leave each session with insights and strategies you can use in everyday life. You don't have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. If you're ready to stop carrying everything on your own, I'd be honored to support you.
