I am an independently licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC) in Ohio with over 15 years of professional work experience with adults, and adolescents in various community mental health, and school-based settings. I have performed successfully in both inpatient, and outpatient treatment facilities providing individual, group, and family therapy. I have considerable experience in advocating for my clients with a variety of mood disorders, thought disorders, adjustment disorders, personality disorders, and learning disorders.
My specialty areas are in dual diagnosis treatment, substance use disorders, other process addictions, attention-deficit disorder (ADHD), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Relapse Prevention, trauma-informed care, and complex grief. I seek to work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment as a sort of "Conversational Partner". Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes extreme courage. I am here to support you in that journey or process by being your "Corner person in the ring of life". I prefer to utilize person-centered, strength-based, and solution focused approaches that empower and motivate individuals to effectuate positive changes that move towards self-selected goals that improve overall quality of life. I am trained in Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention (MBRP), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
